Holy mother of god! What kind of criminal would put an aluminum V-8 in a 2800 lb rear-drive sports car?!
I love it Smile

"The designer of the gun had clearly not been instructed to beat about the bush. 'Make it evil,' he'd been told. 'Make it totally clear that this gun has a right end and a wrong end. Make it totally clear to anyone standing at the wrong end that things are going badly for them. If that means sticking all sort of spikes and prongs and blackened bits all over it then so be it. This is not a gun for hanging over the fireplace or sticking in the umbrella stand, it is a gun for going out and making people miserable with." -Douglas Adams

“It is just as difficult and dangerous to try to free a people that wants to remain servile as it is to try to enslave a people that wants to remain free."
-Niccolo Machiavelli

The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all. -Mencken

However I can tell you the best way to get a truly fast BRZ.

Google Vorshlag BRZ/FR-S LSx swap kits. A good number of BRZ owners have already replaced their pitiful little four bangers with a GM LS series V8.

Yes, I understand there a minor weight penalty.

However the old time hot rodders saying still holds true: "when searching for power, there is no replacement for displacement!

Or put another way "it takes cubic money to beat cubic inches".

And -- congratulations on purchasing a great true sports car!

Believe it or not the FA20 that comes in the BRZ is insanely heavy and wider than an LS. It weighs almost 500lbs and is also pushed way forward so by swapping an LS V8 the front to rear weight bias is actually improved. Very odd choice of engines for what the car was targeted for.

I think I'm good, for now. Tons more grip! Not nearly as tail happy but you can still break it loose if you throw it in "Track mode" and stomp on the throttle Smile

I like it more, every day.

Bruce

You're doing this right. Always tires first. You can't be fast with no grip. Congrats on your new stallion. Enjoy!
