feersum dreadnaughtBest cheeseburger you ever had?
Not one mention of little White Castle (or Krystal in the South) steamed square burgers?
Best served by the bag, usually sometime after the bars close?

I just stopped for some Whities last weekend on my way home from work. Had been craving them for a while. My family wasn't too happy with the, ahem, aftermath an hour or so later. But, that's one way to get the tv to yourself....

jaaron11Maybe not the best I've ever had, but the first thing that popped into my head was the old Burger Station drive-thru's in Springfield, Missouri. Man I loved me some Burger Station.

barleyWhen I lived in Albuquerque, there was a place called Santiago's. It was a family owned spot that made an item called the double avocado burger. It was your regular double meat burger with avocado wrapped in a large tortilla.
It was awesome. The grease, mayo, etc. that gathered in the bottom of the wrap was an awesome treat at the end.

WaterburyBobThere used to be a small chain in the Northeast in the 70's and 80's called Big Top Shoppes.
They had a gas-fired grill and made hamburgers/cheeseburgers and barbecued chicken and ribs.
Their hamburgers/cheeseburgers were a bit burned on the surface, yet were tender and very juicy inside.
Those were the best I've had; nothing comes close since they closed in the early 90's.

But it's brie cheese with a delicious truffle sauce. Mmmm, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Served with polenta fries.
That sounds great!!!!!!

birddog1Another vote for my own made on my Weber charcoal grill using hardwood lump charcoal. Best burger out was at Tortugas Lie in Nags Head, it was their Bajan Burger.

RB211Best - I'm going to have to go with my own.
Next, would have to be a little hole-in-the-wall in downtown Atlanta called Just Around the Corner, or the bacon burger at the Taildragger at the Ocala airport FBO.

TRIOAbout 2010, after being laid off and unemployed for over a year, a friend helped my family when he *gave us his "leftover" deer meat.
I had no idea how to cook it so I go to the library. Found a recipe in a venison cookbook that stated 1/2 venison, 1/2 pork, add a cup of chopped green onions mixed together (looked like large chives). That was very good, but the 100% venison I made later that was "aged" was AMAZING! The burger never made it to the plate, just pan, bun, then stomach!
*Can't sell vension, He had leftover from previous year as his wife couldn't eat much being ill with cancer. He then got a fresh deer for his family, passing his older meat to my family.
