I went to a Five Guys last week and got the half-flled bag of fries.
While I like their burgers, they are definitely over-priced for what they offer. Even with all the extra fries.

A cheeseburger from Whistlers drive up in Carthage Mo. it was about 21 years ago but I'd imagine they're still great.
My kids believe mine on the grill are great.

The 11th Street Cafe in the Houston Heights used to make a damn good patty melt back in the mid- 1980s.

there was a little joint near the airport in the east end of RVA,
started out with a big handful of beef, tossed on a grill, and mashed flat till about perfect size,
damn tasty burger, but they closed up after about a year

Guess it's just the ones around here. I could split fries with four people before, now they barely give you any.
And I agree, it's still over-priced. The one around me is never busy.

Steak and Shake like 2 weeks ago. I kid you not. I normally go and get a mediocre burger at S&S. That's what I expect for the money, but a couple weeks ago I went after going to the range and holy crap I could not believe how good that burger was. I doubt I'll ever get another burger that good anywhere, much less Steak and Shake.
Otherwise, there's a steakburger place around here called Freddy's which has the most consistently delicious burgers.

My wife refuses to eat a hamburger outside of our house after eating my home made burgers.
But after my own, I'd say the Bison burger from Big Horn Travel Center in Buffalo Wyoming is probably the best I've ever had.

Ditto. Lion's Tap is full of awesome!
They use never frozen, fresh, almost still mooing, cow, mixed with salt into the hamburger meat, cooking the bun on the stove with the hamburger, and an explosion of tastiness results. Plus they are only 25 minutes away.
