RHINOWSOBest cheeseburger you ever had?
I don't think I've been keeping score, but RJ Grunts in Chi-town made a really good cheeseburger back in the 90s when we visited family often and the city wasn't a complete shit hole.

MagnumUBurgatory (logo is a steer in bright red with a devil's tail) in Pittsburgh, PA. "Customize" burger option, wide range of meat, seasonings, buns, toppings, great preparation. Highly recommend a stop there.

cmparrishI'm really amazed at the fact that most of you can easily name the best cheeseburger you have ever had. I've had so many great cheeseburgers over the years, it's mind boggling to figure out the best.
I would say some of the top ones would be (in no particular order):
1. Shake Shack
2. Roy's Big Burger
3. The OP's favorite Patty Melt from River City Cafe in MB
4. Bovine burgers in Richmond
5. Boulevard burgers and brew in Richmond
Those are just to name a few.

BigSwedeI guess I have never had a great burger out and about. The best for me have been made at home

Probably Johnnys Grill, they make a really good Oklahoma Onion Burger.
I think that you may just be correct. The same setup with the same burgers, coneys, etc. exists in Yukon Okla. I can't remember their name. I ate there when I was back in Okla. for my nephew's wedding, and I took my nephew and all of the groomsmen there after rehearsal. We had a grand time.

Since some of your best are in the Richmond area, you may take a trip to Green Top and once finished head over to Industrial Tap House. I like grabbing a Bacon triple with the hot pepper mayo and ghost pepper cheese. Drooling over it as I type this, but it's fine, I'm making smash burgers here in about 10 minutes

creedbratton2Sheraton hotel bar, Waikiki beach, Honolulu had a good cheese burger with truffle on it.
About 20 years ago I had a burger I still remember. It was in a converted pharmacy outside Antitem Battlefield.
Fuddruckers has been consistently good over the years.

mcrimmAt home: I grind 2/3 round steak and 1/3 thick cut bacon. Make into about 1/3 to 1/2 pound patties and depress the centers. Cook on my Big Green Egg at 500 turning once. Add your trimmings on a hard, kaiser roll and salivate. I like some blue cheese, a dab of catsup and some salt & pepper.
I'm sorry if I hurt you feelings when I called you stupid - I thought you already knew - Unknown

SigFanAbout 1985 I was working at a camera store in Daytona Beach, on Main Street. A couple doors down was this little greasy spoon called Bertie’s Luncheonette; Bertie was a umm, “plump” lady with an apron that I’m not sure ever got laundered, and the counter was always sticky...BUT the BEST cheeseburger I’ve ever had. She was a nice lady, too.
These days Freddy’s is probably my favorite, with Smashburger a close second.

KuisisI would say Tessaro's in Pittsburgh is my absolute favorite, and the best in the city. I've had Burgatory and Jamison's. My second favorite is the pub burger at Pipers Pub, also in Pittsburgh. Has Stilton and a homemade dill mayo.

P210Peter Luger in Brooklyn also has good cheeseburgers, on the lunch menu. Not brutally priced and free parking across the street doesn’t hurt in NYC.

GMan69Two places come to mind.
First is Rooster's in Jackson, MS, my former home town. Family owned and operated. Fresh never frozen 80/20 beef cooked on a flattop. Fresh home baked buns; white, wheat, and jalapeno cheddar. Best onion rings anywhere.
Next is Dyer's Cafe on the square in Collierville, TN. Again, a family owned and operated place. Fresh never frozen beef cooked on a flattop. Fantastic onion rings.

monoblokI have a fondness for Burger Madness'
Jack Daniels burger. Right up there is the
Kyoto (mushroom melt) from Katsu Burger.
A buddy of mine makes the best elk burgers. His are probably the ultimate of all burgers I've had.
