My dad bought a new 1968 D18 with his army discharge money in 1968. Has played it for 50+ years. Then a few years ago he had an electric amp plug installed !!! I about lost my shit. Oh well it’s his and he plays in church often so he feels he need the ability to plug in. Whatevs. Not my guitar but it’s a very nice guitar. He has since acquired a modern D28 with Indian rosewood. Slightly different tone. But I’d rather have the unaltered d18.

You could ask over on the Unofficial Martin Guitar forum. There's some Brazilian Rosewood talk and worship going on all day every day.
