One law enforcement source said the shooter knew where the outer protective perimeter was established by the USSS. The shooter knew what building would provide an unobstructed view of the podium. The shooter knew that he would have unobstructed access to the roof. The shooter was able to get off several shots before the Secret Service killed him. This is not an indication of a grand conspiracy. What it says is that the shooter carefully planned the assassination attempt. It's unlikely that this assassination attempt was some sort of a same day whim by some crazy.

Having just a small understanding of what the USSS does on a Presidential detail, it's hard to believe anyone can crawl up on a rooftop and take several shots at a former President, but someone did.

I'm thankful for our nation that Trump is ok and it's awful someone attending the rally lost their life.

I don’t see how the bleachers and people sitting on them behind Trump would be out of the picture….even with that photo taken from the ground the bleachers on the live news channels are still high enough to be in the picture I think????? Photoshop bullshiy going on here? Am I wrong?

I was out and about this morning at a popular touristy place nearby...was pleased to see quite a few young people (think high school ages) wearing Trump hats. But yes, whoever was behind this event just guaranteed DJT's victory.

Nope it looks right, power lines in the bottom right corner. Photographer was shooting from his feet.

I'm not so sure it was self control but rather a total lack of situational awareness.
