How much longer are they going to stretch out this farce?

Trump strikes me as someone who learns from his mistakes, hasn’t he dug up all the dirt on these backstabbing lawyers? When is he going to level them?

Merchan is a leftist judge, threatening Trump with jail time. He wants to but won't, because throwing Trump in jail would be a mistake, as it would only increase his chance of being re-elected POTUS. Merchan is pretty damn sure aware of this, imo.

Trump says jail time to defend free speech is 'sacrifice' he's willing to make

By Emma Colton | Fox News
Published May 6, 2024 5:20pm EDT

Former President Trump said he'd make the "sacrifice" of going to jail to defend free speech amid his trial in Manhattan where the 45th president is under a gag order that he has slammed as "unconstitutional."

"I have to watch every word I tell you people. You ask me a question, a simple question I'd like to give it, but I can't talk about it because this judge has given me a gag order and [says] you'll go to jail if you violate it," Trump said in remarks outside the courtroom Monday afternoon.

"And frankly, you know what? Our Constitution is much more important than jail. It's not even close. I'll do that sacrifice any day."

Earlier Monday, presiding Judge Juan Merchan said he will consider a jail sentence for Trump if he continues to violate the gag order. The gag order prevents Trump from making or directing others to make public statements about witnesses and their potential participation or remarks about court staff, DA staff or family members of staff.

The DA's office argued that Trump violated the order more than a dozen times, with the judge ruling last week that Trump violated the order nine times, resulting in a combined $9,000 fine. Merchan fined the former president another $1,000 for an additional violation on Monday, arguing that it's "clear" the $1,000 fines for each violation are not effective.

"The last thing I want to consider is jail," Merchan said. "You are [the] former president and possibly the next president."

In the judge’s initial gag order ruling last Tuesday, he threatened Trump with jail time if he continued to violate the order, lamenting not being able to fine Trump more than $1,000 for each violation.

Merchan wrote in the Tuesday order that if Trump carries out "continued willful violations" of the gag order, he could face "incarceratory punishment" if "necessary and appropriate."

In the text of his order, Merchan said the fines' costs "unfortunately will not achieve the desired result in those instances where the contemnor can easily afford such a fine."

Merchan continued in the order last week that it would be "preferable" if the court "could impose a fine more commensurate with the wealth of the contemnor."

"In some cases that might be a $2,500 fine, in other cases it might be a fine of $150,000. Because this Court is not cloaked with such discretion, it must therefore consider whether in some instances, jail may be a necessary punishment," he wrote, highlighting again that Trump could face time behind bars if he continues to violate the order.

Trump, who is standing trial over 34 felony counts of falsifying business records, has railed against the gag order as "unconstitutional" and accused Merchan of "election interference" while slamming the case overall as a "scam" promoted by the Biden administration.

Trump said in his remarks Monday that the trial will last an additional two to three weeks, which he said delighted Merchan because it will keep Trump away from the presidential campaign trail.

"So, we just found out the government just said that they want two to three more weeks. That means they want to keep me off the trail for two to three more weeks. Now, anybody in there would realize there's no case. They don't have a case. Every legal scholar says they don't have a case. This is just a political witch hunt. It's election interference. And this is really truly election interference. And it's a disgrace," Trump said, noting his high poll numbers.

"The judge is so happy about two to three more weeks because they all want to keep me off the campaign trail. That's all this is about. This is about election interference."

Monday marked the beginning of the fourth week of the trial in which Trump is facing 34 counts of falsifying business records. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The case focuses on Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen, paying former pornographic actor Stormy Daniels $130,000 to allegedly quiet her claims of an alleged extramarital affair she had with the then-real estate tycoon in 2006. Trump has denied having an affair with Daniels.

Prosecutors allege that the Trump Organization reimbursed Cohen and fraudulently logged the payments as legal expenses. Prosecutors are working to prove that Trump falsified records with the intent to commit or conceal a second crime, which is a felony.

Yes, it's clear to me that Donald Trump is goading the judge to fish or cut bait. Trump knows that his being jailed even for half a day would be to his benefit.

The potential fines- up to 150,000 dollars if I understand correctly- wouldn't make Trump bat an eye.

Jail him, help him. Fine him, fuck it.

On top of that, from all I can see, the D.A. has no case, and can only hope that all 12 jurors hate Donald Trump so much that they will ignore the evidence and testimony and find the man guilty anyway, in which case, the verdict should be overturned on appeal, and if it is not, well, there's gonna be Hell to pay.

This particular farce likely.
They will continue with all they can until January 2029 and likely past that especially if his predecessor is a Democrat.

Forever. This is the tyrannical way leftists plan to rule America and Trump’s sham trial is a small taste of what the progressives have planned for us all. We must defeat them at the ballot box; they plan to utterly destroy our country and use the justice system as their weapon.

Assuming everything that Stormy says is true, she has no knowledge, direct or otherwise, on the intent behind the payments. Catch and kill money to avoid embarrassing Melania is not campaign or records fraud. Celebrities buy stories to avoid unfavorable reports. It's not a crime to do that.

Also, the judge is on the verge of putting himself into a corner where he has to jail Trump for contempt. He's threatened it before but always imposed a fine. Well, the fines aren't working and while the judge can increase them, on the scale of escalation, all he has left is incarceration.

That works in Donald's favor and IIRC, a contempt citation is immediately appealable and doesn't require a case to be at a final judgment before doing so.

I keep wondering just how damned stupid Dems can get, and especially a few who already have IQs in the low 2-digit range. Along comes Maxine Waters... again, to prove she can get much worse!

Maxine Waters Claims Trump Supporters Training "In the Hills" for Massive Attack!

California sure has a way of finding the worst possible candidates to represent them in Congress.

Many are the most extreme kind of leftists who saw Donald Trump’s presidency as the second coming of Adolf Hitler.

Like, Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters, who, in a recent interview on MSNBC, spouted an unhinged conspiracy theory about evil Trump supporters.

As seen in a clip shared to the social media platform X by RNC Research, Waters spoke to Jonathan Capehart on his show, “The Sunday Show with Jonathan Capehart.”

Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters floats a completely unhinged conspiracy theory that “right-wing organizations” are “training up in the hills somewhere” pic.twitter.com/EIDQgoeA9h

According to Mediaite, Waters’ unhinged rant was prompted by a question from Capehart regarding Trump’s recent Time interview.

In that interview, according to Capehart, Trump said, “He would not seek to overturn or ignore the Constitution’s prohibition on a third term.”

“Should the American people believe that? Do you believe that?” Capehart asked.

Waters answered, “No! Absolutely not. As I said, you can’t believe anything that Donald Trump has to say. Donald Trump will do any and everything that he can possibly get away with.”

Not a promising start, but, as seen in the video, it got worse.

Waters continued her fear-mongering, saying, “This is a man who we better be careful about. And I tell you what I’m going to do, I’m going to ask the Justice Department, and I’m going to ask the president, to tell us what they are going to do protect this country against violence if he loses.”

Considering the violence of the Black Lives Matter protests of 2020 and the violence of the protests currently raging on college campuses against Jewish students, perhaps Waters should be more concerned about violence coming from her own party.

Regardless, Waters pressed forward, apparently getting carried away by her imagination the more she allowed herself to spout this shameless, panic-inducing rhetoric.

She told Capehart, “I want to know about all of those right-wing organizations that he’s connected with, who are training up in the hills somewhere and targeting … what communities they are going to attack.”

Once upon a time, Waters’ delusions might have landed her in an asylum.

First off, training camps up in the hills? Where did she get that idea?

Second, in accusing the right of threatening violence if they didn’t get their way, Waters had absolutely no place to talk.

As The Daily Wire reminded their readers, Waters herself has been guilty of encouraging violence and harassment against members of the former president’s cabinet.

Back in 2018, Waters, spreading the false claim that Trump was inciting violence, said, “Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up and if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”

Finally, there was absolutely no proof for what Waters’ said, in any context.

Trump has always condemned violence against his political opponents.

Even with the whole Jan. 6 insurrection, no honest observer could truly say he incited violence or anything remotely resembling a coup.

Waters, ignoring her own history of encouraging harassment, was merely engaged in a baseless attempt to whip up voters against Trump.

That said, there was probably no amount of proof that could be presented to Waters that would make her change her mind.

Like the rest of the liberal establishment, she has decided that Trump and his supporters are a bunch of feral monsters.

Waters and her Democrat friends know they can’t convince voters to vote for Biden on his merits, so they must dissuade them from voting for Trump with lies and fear.

Judge indefinitely postpones Mar-a-Lago classified docs trial date

https://justthenews.com/govern..._campaign=newsletter

U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon on Tuesday indefinitely postponed the May 20 trial date in special counsel Jack Smith's classified documents case against former President Donald Trump.

Smith has charged Trump in connection with his alleged mishandling of classified materials at his Mar-a-Lago estate. He pleaded not guilty in June of 2023 but Smith later brought a superseding indictment in July of that year.

Several pre-trial motions remains before the court and are scheduled for after the initial trail date, the last of which is currently scheduled for July 22.

"The Court also determines that finalization of a trial date at this juncture—before resolution of the myriad and interconnected pre-trial and CIPA [Classified Information Procedures Act] issues remaining and forthcoming—would be imprudent and inconsistent with the Court’s duty to fully and fairly consider the various pending pre-trial motions before the Court, critical CIPA issues, and additional pretrial and trial preparations necessary to present this case to a jury," she wrote.

"The Court therefore vacates the current May 20, 2024, trial date (and associated calendar call), to be reset by separate order following resolution of the matters before the Court, consistent with Defendants’ right to due process and the public’s interest in the fair and efficient administration of justice," she continued.

The decision is potentially a major win for Trump, who has sought to push the case beyond the November presidential election.

Cannon denied Trump's bid to dismiss the case in early April over claims that the documents recovered from his estate were personal records. In February, he filed several motions for dismissal using different arguments, including claims to enjoy presidential immunity and an assertion that Smith was illegitimately appointed.

The Supreme Court heard oral arguments over Trump's immunity claims on April 25, but has not yet issued a decision on the matter.

It is the picture that launched a thousand pearl-clutching articles.

A few weeks after the armed FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago in August 2022, the Department of Justice released a stunning photograph depicting alleged contraband seized from Donald Trump’s Palm Beach estate that day; the image showed colored sheets representing scary classification levels attached to files purportedly discovered in Trump’s private office.

Included as a government exhibit to oppose Trump’s lawsuit requesting a special master to vet the 13,000 items taken from his residence, the crime scene pic immediately went viral—just as Attorney General Merrick Garland, who authorized the unprecedented raid, intended.

The photo was staged precisely to create this outrage. Proof positive that Trump was a Russian spy or something. It is the Steele Dossier reborn.

The photo was staged.

Jay Bratt, who was the lead DOJ prosecutor on the investigation at the time and now is assigned to Smith’s team, described the photo this way in his August 30, 2022 response to Trump’s special master lawsuit:

“[Thirteen] boxes or containers contained documents with classification markings, and in all, over one hundred unique documents with classification markings…were seized. Certain of the documents had colored cover sheets indicating their classification status. (Emphasis added.) See, e.g., Attachment F (redacted FBI photograph of certain documents and classified cover sheets recovered from a container in the ‘45 office’).”

The DOJ’s clever wordsmithing, however, did not accurately describe the origin of the cover sheets. In what must be considered not only an act of doctoring evidence but willfully misleading the American people into believing the former president is a criminal and threat to national security, agents involved in the raid attached the cover sheets to at least seven files to stage the photo.

Classified cover sheets were not “recovered” in the container, contrary to Bratt’s declaration to the court. In fact, after being busted recently by defense attorneys for mishandling evidence in the case, Bratt had to fess up about how the cover sheets actually ended up on the documents.

Here is Bratt’s new version of the story, where he finally admits a critical detail that he failed to disclose in his August 2022 filing:

“[If] the investigative team found a document with classification markings, it removed the document, segregated it, and replaced it with a placeholder sheet. The investigative team used classified cover sheets for that purpose.”

Wow. Whenever I think the FBI has hit rock bottom they go lower. If they’ll do this to a former POTUS with the resources to uncover their tricks, what have they been doing to us normal folks who are at their mercy? The whole organization needs to be disbanded, no honor and no credibility.
