They don't hold the house. Given that the Dims tend to vote as a monolithic block, the Rs could certainly put forward a motion, but it would almost certainly be DOA.

I cannot disagree. Suppose we substitute Chuck Schumer's name for McConnell in this article. The article would then be totally congruent with what we know about the left in general and Chuck Schumer in particular. No one would bat an eye.
How is it in any way acceptable that the Republican Senate Majority Leader would ever utter those words?

Apparently, several received it from the ARRL. I did not either, but read accounts and saw a copy of the message. I haven't had my radio on lately as I have been busy with other things.
