Millions of insurance plans were cancelled due to Obamacare, but Biden says nobody lost their plans
Former President Obama was heavily criticized for telling Americans that if "you like your plan, you can keep your plan," which turned out not to be the case.
Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said during Thursday night's debate that nobody lost their health insurance plans when Obamacare was fully implemented, but millions of individuals had their insurance policies cancelled at the time.
A RAND Corporation study estimated that 5.9 million people lost their insurance plans due to Obamacare's rules and regulations.
Obamacare is the 2010 health care law crafted by former President Obama, for whom Biden served as vice president for both of his terms.
Obama was heavily criticized at the time for telling Americans that if "you like your plan, you can keep your plan," which turned out not to be the case.
Politifact rated Obama's promise the "lie of the year" in 2013.
Trump and Biden each were asked Thursday night how they would handle health care policy if the Supreme Court invalidates Obamacare's individual mandate in the upcoming California v. Texas case.
"What I'm going to do is pass Obamacare with a public option. It will become Bidencare. The public option says in fact if you do not have the wherewithal, if you qualify for Medicaid and you do not have the wherewithal in your state to get Medicaid, you're automatically enrolled, providing competition for insurance companies," Biden said.
Biden rejected the idea that he wants to eliminate private insurance.
"Not one single person with private insurance would lose their insurance under my plan, nor did they under Obamacare. They did not lose their insurance unless they chose they wanted to go to something else," he said.
In response, Trump said Biden's health care plan would amount to socialized medicine, given that the federal government would run the public option.

THIS!!!! I used to have a fantastic PPO plan through my former employer. It survived about 2 years of obamacare before it became unaffordable. The coverage went down drastically, and premiums skyrocketed. I ended up changing jobs and my new one provides an obamacare plan with a $12,000 family deductible. About 3 years ago, my former employer stopped offering insurance altogether, and now provides a "stipend" to help cover the cost (but nowhere near enough to actually cover the cost) for employees to buy their own plan on the Obamacare exchange. I'm actually better off than my former coworkers now, even with my crappy massive deductible plan.
Every time I hear Biden (or any other democrat) rambling on about how they "fixed" the healthcare industry with Obamacare, or how nobody lost their insurance plan, I want to reach through the tv and punch them in the face. Its an outright lie, and they fixed nothing. They took an imperfect system and made it 100x worse, and in the process screwed over millions of hard working middle class Americans. They provided an avenue for people with truly shitty jobs to theoretically be able to purchase really shitty insurance coverage (that they still can't afford), at the cost of taking away decent coverage from those of us at the lower end of the middle class who were just struggling to get by, and replacing it with far worse coverage for double the money. And these smug bastards keep patting themselves on the back like it was some kind of massive success.

Just encountered an interesting thing to see that Facebook is jumping on the censoring for 'The Big Guy' Joe. A local news article about the debate last night leaving voters with a better view of the candidates. Only 2 comments at the time I looked, they were showing only 1 as relevant....which said "Way better! The moderator was way better also!"
I select all comments and this one is now visible: "Pretty interesting that Biden stated that he wants to destroy the oil industry"
They know that comment is going to bite him in the ass.
