Yes, but think about it. He's gone full Marie Antoinette, publicly declaring "Let them eat cake."
One cannot reason with such people. To scoff at the needs of people for the basics of civilization- food and shelter- and all to make asinine proclamations that the Constitution is in danger, is absolute madness.
They are, at this point, no better than rabid dogs.

I agree 100 percent. They only care about holding on to power by any means. They know Trump is loaded for bear and is going to drain the swamp. And based on what Elon Musk has said, they’re all afraid that the Epstein list is going to be released and that would mean Trump will sick the DOJ on them.
Even Wall Street knows Trump is headed to victory as long as we get out the vote.

While I agree with much of what Peterson says, he is wrong on this.
As someone who has some clear recollections of the era for a variety of reasons, I agree with you, and it’s something I have often thought about due to discussions with a leftist friend.
Until the Army was told to stop “spying” on civilians in 1971, we counterintelligence agents had a lot of interest in what the various “opposition” movements were doing at the time. One time (unofficially, on my own) I mingled with an antiwar demonstration crowd in metro Washington, DC, and later I was on the roof of the Pentagon during another major demonstration. I can’t claim that I knew everything about the events and attitudes of the times, but I knew a lot.
One major difference between then and now was then there were few if any top level politicians spewing the divisiveness that is common today. The divisiveness that there was centered mostly around support for or opposition to the Vietnam war, and there was little “You’re the devil” because someone held an opposing view. The racial tensions after MLK was murdered were somewhat of an exception and did manifest some forms of that, but nothing like today. Yes, there were specific groups and incidents that were more violent, but they were tightly focused and IMO rose from the bottom up, and not from the top down because of what national figures were calling for and otherwise supporting.
Things are simply different—and worse—now.

Peterson only needs to look at the weaponization of justice from the leftists against their political opponents to know that the 60s got nothing on the present day.
“… offensive slur about Harris…” “… Why can't you support your candidate without being disrespectful to the black woman running against him?'…”
“…Labeling a highly-educated, successful Black woman as a “tramp” is reprehensible…”
”…Misogyny is alive & well in the @NFL…”
So…
Isn’t lying and telling people if Trump wins he will put black and brown people in camps a “vile message”?
Calling DJT a “rapist” having never been criminally charged, let alone convicted, of any sexual assault strikes me as a “vulgar remark”
Repeatedly calling President Trump “Hitler” and a “facist” isn’t an “offensive slur”?
I’ve yet to see anyone who supports the Hairy-Ballz ticket do so in a ”respectful fashion” toward DJT
Labeling a successful business man and former President a ”would be dictator” seems a touch ”reprehensible” to me.
Trying to convince the X-X hive mind to vote solely on shared gender sounds awfully Misandristic. (And I thought gender was simply a “construct” these days anyway? )
Shit rolls both ways, can’t play the victim when you started the fight.

Even CNN panel was gushing over Trump's McD visit. They're throwing in the towel.
KASIE HUNT: Our panel has returned. So I have to say, when I first saw that image of Trump kind of hanging out the drive thru window. A part of me thought, Wow, is that real?
I never thought he would do something like that. The Trump that we saw in 1999, in that old ad, is the one that was much more familiar to me.
Like, Look, we’re going to run this town, right? Like someone who owns a McDonald’s, not someone who works in one.
I mean, clearly they have a strategy to try to appeal to working class voters, try to twist the knife on Harris. But I still found these images to be jarring.
KRISTIN SOLTIS-ANDERSON: Well, part of what you what is so striking about them is that he’s not trying to not be Donald Trump.
Like some politicians go when they try to dress up as somebody they’re not. He’s still got the red tie. He’s still got, he’s still so clearly himself. And I think this was an unbelievably smart move!
Because one thing that has differentiated Donald Trump from other really wealthy politicians is that he has never been seen as the aloof, the billionaire who would never deign to hang out with the commoners.
Like he has always sort of portrayed himself as I’m the rich guy who doesn’t really like the other rich guys. I’m one of you, and this is part of this. I think this was insanely smart!
ALEX THOMPSON: Well, to that point, it is part of a larger effort on the Trump campaign to sort of soften Donald Trump’s image. It’s why you’ve seen his grandkids sort of being appearing at the rally and also spoke at the RNC. There’s a a larger effort going on by the Trump campaign to appeal to some of those suburban women that he’s kind of losing.
MEGHAN HAYS: The most humanizing moment in that clip was when he threw this all over his shoulder. It was like such a normal reaction that anyone who was like, like we all do that when you’re cooking or whatever. And so that was the most like normalizing and humanizing moment, I think, in this clip.
But to your point, like he still has a shirt on his tie on, like most politicians would have showed up in like a collared shirt or something that said McDonald’s and try to like more fit in.
I did find it striking that the whole restaurant was shut down and it was just sort of like a staged event. But I do think it is definitely like poking at the vice president.
Now these leftist assholes are busy trying to doxx the owner of that Bucks county McDonalds and put in bad reviews for it everywhere.
TDS needs to be classified as a severe mental illness in the DSM like right now.

Funny how Tim Walz's McDonalds experience differs as he let the rioters burn them down and Kamala bail out the arsonists.

It's funny how the Dems now profess a reverence for the Constitution, when they've constantly attacked it for the last century. They claim it is "living" and subject to any new meaning they may wish.
Ditto the concept of freedom, when they are the party of Big Government, demanding ever more of our labors in taxation, and regulating every aspect of our society. They are the party of weaponized government applied against any opposition.

It's not funny, it's normal.
Those on the left live their lives based strictly on emotion. They have no anchors when it comes to morals or reality. How they feel today is how it is, and if they feel differently tomorrow then so be it. They can flip at flop at will and don't see any issue with doing so.
It doesn't matter what those on the right do, it's wrong. When those on the left do the same, it's (D)ifferent.
