Anyone seeing what is happening to Brees for simply saying he is against kneeling during the anthem?

I don't think I've ever wanted someone to win an election more in my life. I can't imagine what the country will look like otherwise. This is insane.

What the hell happened to Mattis? He used to be one of the good guys. He sounds as Trump-deranged as the looniest lefties out there:

IN UNION THERE IS STRENGTH
I have watched this week’s unfolding events, angry and appalled. The words “Equal Justice Under Law” are carved in the pediment of the United States Supreme Court. This is precisely what protesters are rightly demanding. It is a wholesome and unifying demand—one that all of us should be able to get behind. We must not be distracted by a small number of lawbreakers. The protests are defined by tens of thousands of people of conscience who are insisting that we live up to our values—our values as people and our values as a nation.

When I joined the military, some 50 years ago, I swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution. Never did I dream that troops taking that same oath would be ordered under any circumstance to violate the Constitutional rights of their fellow citizens—much less to provide a bizarre photo op for the elected commander-in-chief, with military leadership standing alongside.

We must reject any thinking of our cities as a “battlespace” that our uniformed military is called upon to “dominate.” At home, we should use our military only when requested to do so, on very rare occasions, by state governors. Militarizing our response, as we witnessed in Washington, D.C., sets up a conflict—a false conflict—between the military and civilian society. It erodes the moral ground that ensures a trusted bond between men and women in uniform and the society they are sworn to protect, and of which they themselves are a part. Keeping public order rests with civilian state and local leaders who best understand their communities and are answerable to them.

James Madison wrote in Federalist 14 that “America united with a handful of troops, or without a single soldier, exhibits a more forbidding posture to foreign ambition than America disunited, with a hundred thousand veterans ready for combat.” We do not need to militarize our response to protests. We need to unite around a common purpose. And it starts by guaranteeing that all of us are equal before the law.

Instructions given by the military departments to our troops before the Normandy invasion reminded soldiers that “The Nazi slogan for destroying us…was ‘Divide and Conquer.’ Our American answer is ‘In Union there is Strength.’” We must summon that unity to surmount this crisis—confident that we are better than our politics.

Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people—does not even pretend to try. Instead he tries to divide us. We are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort. We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership. We can unite without him, drawing on the strengths inherent in our civil society. This will not be easy, as the past few days have shown, but we owe it to our fellow citizens; to past generations that bled to defend our promise; and to our children.

We can come through this trying time stronger, and with a renewed sense of purpose and respect for one another. The pandemic has shown us that it is not only our troops who are willing to offer the ultimate sacrifice for the safety of the community. Americans in hospitals, grocery stores, post offices, and elsewhere have put their lives on the line in order to serve their fellow citizens and their country. We know that we are better than the abuse of executive authority that we witnessed in Lafayette Square. We must reject and hold accountable those in office who would make a mockery of our Constitution. At the same time, we must remember Lincoln’s “better angels,” and listen to them, as we work to unite.

Only by adopting a new path—which means, in truth, returning to the original path of our founding ideals—will we again be a country admired and respected at home and abroad."

Mattis would be planning the next maritime assault if his marines had been attacked and injured or killed. He lost me with his comment "We must not be distracted by a small number of lawbreakers." What the fuck is that moron drinking? He must be watching CNN to have not noticed officers being assaulted and killed and a dozen cities burning. What a fucking moron.

That ass Obama, did more to divide this country than anyone ever before and now the rest of the socialists and democrats are continuing that. He became just another ass kissing politician to keep his job under the Obama administration when many of the true warriors and patriots were being tossed out.

Fuck Mattis. Like McCain, I don't give a shit about his military record. It is now game time, months before the election, the clock is ticking, and for them, it is "by any means necessary".

Yup, Mattis is a disgusting disgruntled former employee. He's pissed off because the President disagreed with his Middle East war plan. His ass deserved to be kicked off the WH. Now, he's just another useful idiot that the leftists will continue to parade daily, until his usefulness expires.

In my area, the protesters march during the day, are peaceful, stay out of the street, and march through the city with very minor incidents mostly handled by the protesters themselves.

Then the sun goes down and the rioters come out...

Please forgive me if this has been discussed earlier in this thread. If so, I missed it. But can anyone explain what the purpose/goal was of Trump's visit to that local DC church to take pics holding a bible? I haven't been able to figure it out.

You surely have your own thoughts on why he did this do you not? Why don't you share them with us rather than waiting to be told what to think about it. The fact you say you can't seem to figure it out shows you have put some thought into it.

I always thought that Gay Dog Mattis was a very poor choice for SecDef when he was initially nominated, as he's just a lib in a Marine Corps uniform. He confirmed that when he didn't change the policy of females being unrestricted from combat roles, not to mention, his pushback on President Trump on keeping trannies out of the military.

Why don't you simply try answering my question instead of unloading a thinly-veiled attempt to characterize my question as anti-Trump?

No one is going to take the bait. Answer your own anti Trump Question.

Why do you think he did it?

an intentionally misrepresented proposition that is set up because it is easier to defeat than an opponent's real argument.

To what bait are you referring? I have no idea. I have seen the images, and cannot think of a good purpose. Please enlighten me. This is not an anti-Trump question. It's simply a question.

I doubt his sole purpose was to go to the church to take pics holding a bible. I doubt that was his purpose at all. I'm sure a multitude of pictures were taken there, one of which was him holding a bible. Of course the Left and the media (I repeat myself) lost their minds over that particular picture. If not that picture, then it would be a different one. Every day is like GroundHog Day for them, they have to find something new to be outraged about.

Figure it out elsewhere.

The kind of thing you're doing is the last thing the members need or want to see right now.

If you want members to believe that you're simply searching for the truth to your question, fine, we believe you and we wish you the best of luck in stumbling onto any clues in your path, but all of that will take place elsewhere and without our knowledge.
