It looks to me like the kneeling sniper sees something and tries to get his gun down onto it but the tripod won't let him get the declination he needs because of the angle of the roof he was on. He yanks the rifle back trying to get the angle but the prone sniper had already taken the shot.
But that's just from watching a grainy bit of video on my phone. I could very well be completely wrong on that. I would like to see what the difference in elevation is and what that roof actually looks like from the perspective of the counter sniper team's position.

When I check this thread in the morning, I hope to see no conspiracy theories, no subtle suggestions that the Secret Service was in on it or anything like that.
We were very lucky today, and that's an understatement. They had their chance and they missed and now they're not going to have another chance. It's over. Focus on that.

Using G Maps and the little man tool (man of the ground view - I don't know what it's really called), as far as I can guess, I think (based the Trump and Shooter map pasted on page 998) the sniper buildings are much higher elevation (ie 2 or 3 story) while the shooter bldg (again my guess) is single story height. So, the snipers seem to be at an elevated position relative to the shooter.
Again, just my guesses based on the info at hand.

Actively communicating with a number of former colleagues from the Secret Service about the assassination attempt. This is an obviously catastrophic failure and NO excuses should be made, or even attempted. The failures are profound and questions must be answered about ground surveillance, air surveillance, post-stander support, and counter-sniper advance work and response. We have ONE job, and we came within inches of a deadly failure today. An uneventful failure is NOT a success.

Given the distance, the height delta is negligible.
How did he get on the roof, move into position, and have that opportunity? The whole fucking arena fits in a Walmart parking lot.
On page 15 of the same thread (post #569), there seems to be a pic of the snipers and rifle and scope. Wouldn't that scope be able to discern a threat at 150yards? The scope must be 15" long with 50mm lens.
