Hi guys, I've almost exclusively been wearing Darn Tough Vermont socks for more than a decade. I've finally worn out a pair (single pair at this point) at the heel - no holes but it's getting threadbare and I can feel the coolness of floor tiles through the socks.

I believe they can be sent to the factory for free replacement (sans shipping?).

1. Has anybody done this? Is it really troublefree and receptive?

2. I feel that I've really gotten my mileage and money's worth from the socks. I feel a little uneasy with using the free replacement service even if it is troublefree. The socks are expensive so maybe once is okay to cost average down a little. But even still, I feel I've already gotten my money's worth. If you've used the service, do you have any qualms? I'm leaning toward just buying a new pair and have a clear conscious; on the other hand, the factory wouldn't offer the service if they didn't believe in it, right?

Stick them for all you can and maybe they will quit spending their money on being woke. And for $20-30 for a pair of socks I’d be getting them replaced on their dime.

I've replaced 2 pairs thus far. Sent them both in (they want pics, so don't box them up before that). It was painless. Filled out some online forms, put the socks in an oversized envelope and about 6 days later got a coupon in my email for 2 replacement pairs. All it cost me was a little tax on my end and shipping to Vermont (about $6).

Got my second pile of returns collecting now.

Okay, sounds like it should replace at least once. I guess maybe the question is: should I wait until I get multiple pairs (which may take awhile - years?) or just do it each time a pair is ready? I need to look up what they expect the condition for replacement is - hole or what level of wear is sufficient?

ETA: as best as I can tell, the socks need to have suffered a rip or tear (ie - a hole is present). So, I guess I need to keep wearing the socks until an actual hole is made. I'll wear the most threadbare pairs the most now so that I can do a multiple (cost average down the shipping).

Use the policy while it lasts, because it won't. I lost count of how many Duluth Trading socks/pants I sent in with their "No BS" policy.
