MagicAir AC condensation tray rusted--suggestions.
Condensation tray under attic HVAC unit has several leaks. Overflow pan holds 8 gallons then trips shutoff.
Condenser tray is fixed to lower housing of unit. Not a simple remove and replace. Aprox 29 x 29.75 " existing galvanized tray.
1) Place new plastic liner into existing tray. Do they make a retrofit tray?
2) other suggestions?

SIG4ME - We had a leaking pan on our unit four years back and were in the same situation related to how it was mounted. At the recommendation of our HVAC guy we took a torch and heated the two areas that were leaking to remove any moisture. We did this twice over a 30 minute period of time. After the second heating session we allowed the tray to cool for 30 minutes - and then we started applying (spraying) Flex-Steel on the areas. Thin coats and allowed about 4 -8 hrs between each coat. We applied four coats and those two areas did not leak again for three years, which was when we had the unit and pan replaced (with a plastic one).

This was before Flex-Steel offered their product in a bucket (brush on option) but now that their product is available in a brush on application process, you may be able to fix this yourself without to much cost….

Also - The fumes from the spray on Flex-Steel is STOUT so be sure to take that into consideration if you go this route…

If it's good enough for a sea worthy screen door, it's got to be good for this application right?
