I just paid $95 for my Vans.
Probably will pick up these Axions in the near future and they are $95 as well.

Best pair of skate shoes I ever had were Axions and they cost $85 20 years ago.

Guess they are a decent deal then and hope people love them. When I look at the bottom of Merrell Moabs and those I'm not sure I understand their design, but they know more than me.

Have not heard the word "Woobie" mentioned since Mr. Mom!

Because son, it is what you are supposed to do.

The woobie holds a special place in the heart of many in the military...back when poncho's were still issued, a quilted-insulated sheet would snap into the poncho providing a bit of warmth underneath. Guys took to calling it a 'woobie' as that was one of the few creature-comforts one could have when in the field. As an inexpensive, quilted sheet, they're compressible, lightweight and did the job warding-off the cold on long flights in an air lifter, needing an another layer in your rack or, covering your body during long drives apart of a convoy.

Today, moving bankets and picnic blankets are constructed the same way, using inexpensive synthetic batting material, sandwiched between a durable outer material sewn in a quilt pattern to anchor and stabilize the insulation. Woobies would use a much softer and compressible shell fabric.

I bought a pair after reading this thread.

Very lightweight, so comfortable I forgot I was wearing them right way.

The soles are non skid on hard floors wet or dry; they are not lugged/cleated trail runner style.

They aren't supersonic Guardians of the Galaxy high tech but nicely made.

I may get a second pair.

So I also purchased a pair based on this thread and I like them.

Clearly, they are a traditional sneaker in design - similar to Converse Chuck Taylor's - so don't expect much different in terms of arch support. The overall quality is high, although after a week I kicked one of the little drain hole grommets out. No biggee. The canvas material is far thicker than on a pair of Chuck's. They should be a durable shoe in the long run.

The biggest surprise is the sole. The sole is thicker than on the Converse. So some more cushion right away. It's also softer and more pliable. The result is very grippy - even on loose surfaces. I spent some time hiking on trails in Prescott, AZ last weekend - largely decomposed granite trails with some boulder hopping. On the rocks they are excellent. Their grip is amazing. Surprisingly, on the loose 'pebbles' the grip was still actually quite good without them having any sort of lugged bottom. I attribute this to the flexibility/pliability of the sole material. It forms to the ground surface as you step.

All in all, very pleased and glad they are made here.

Me, too. Or of the shoes. Might check out the shoes, though.

Well as far as fashion they certainly make a statement. Not sure what that statement is but you will make a statement. The more I looked at them they started to grow on me but then I noticed that they dont have Wide sizes. Also, noticed that one of the three colors was Cementos. So you could order a pair of Cementos shoes. Sounds like a movie plot!!

Oh and they are made in Texas!!!

Cementos "sold out"

This is on you, straightshooter. Smile

Of course it will.
Because I just bought new headlights and a grille for the Tundra and a Silencerco Sparrow.
So no extra money at the moment.

Still enjoying my first pair:
Comfortable, non-skid at work, holding up to frequent wearing.
