Yet, the Lame Stream Media doesn't seem to draw much attention to it. If it were a RAT (RAT=democRAT) potus, guaranteed everybody, including our dim witted alphabet agencies, would be screaming for safeguards.

Maybe moving the ceremony indoors was a good idea.

Easy for me to say, I know, I’m not worried about it anymore than with other presidents. If an attempt is going to happen again, it won’t be while everyone has their guard up. It will be later when the conditions are softer. Does the Left hate him enough to want to? No doubt. But it’s not practical and especially not at the inauguration.

I'm not sure I believe there is anything organized afoot. However, the Democrats successfully radicalized quite a few people over the thought of evil orange man taking everything from them if he is elected.

It's the lone wolf nutcases, as we've seen, that are difficult to predict, track, and stop.

Of course moving the ceremony to a more secure location was a good idea. Roll Eyes

This isn’t the battle of Gettysburg when a second or third level officer must lead at the head of his division to keep his men marching toward an entrenched enemy position as they’re being mown down by rifle and canister fire. It’s been a very long time since it’s made the slightest sense for a top commander (e.g., the Commander in Chief) to expose himself to unnecessary danger. There are an untold number of recreational shooters—not to mention professionals—who would find it trivially easy to hit a man-sized target at 1000 yards with a precision rifle. Do we really believe that it would be impossible for an assassin to find someplace from which to make such a shot that hadn’t been interdicted by the Secret Service and other security?

The only reason we have Donald Trump alive to be inaugurated as our President is because the two people (that we know of) who made the attempt were total incompetents. Do we really want to risk letting a third have a chance?

Im glad they moved it indoors.
Nevermind "plots", older men standing outside in freezing weather is never a great thing.
I would hate for Pres. Trump or Justice Thomas to be laid low by a illness brought on by being outdoors.

DJT is many orders of magnitude smarter than President William Henry Harrison who gave an inauguration speech on a cold, rainy day then came down with a cold which turned into pneumonia which lead to death.

I'd be more inclined to trust the SS with Trump's own man at the helm. I'd be more inclined to trust Trump's man more than some deep state pimp.

I’ll agree that I would be more likely to trust the man that PDJT chose after working with him as the head of his detail.

With that said, two things come to mind:

1) Just because the SS is doing their honest best doesn’t mean that it is impossible for someone to get lucky. Sure, if the folks in charge are not incompetent (either naturally or deliberately) the odds of someone getting lucky will be lower, but they will never be zero.

2) The very best agent may or may not make the very best administrator for the agency. Different roles require different skill sets. Sometimes an individual is great at multiple roles, sometimes they are much better suited to one role than another. That said, based on experience with PDJT’s last term one might well believe that the most important qualification for any role in PDJT’s next administration may well be loyalty.

Okay, thanks. It’s hard to interpret some comments these days.

I agree that a good “field” man may not be the best for the top position. But someone has to be in charge and even if we can’t be certain about someone’s suitability for a job, it’s a much better bet that they will do well if they’ve demonstrated competence elsewhere rather than someone who was picked primarily because they fit some “demographic.”

This, exactly. Trump seemed to exhibit a degree of political naïveté. I think he's more shrewd now and less inclined to trust career bureaucrats. There's too much at stake. This is for all the marbles.

The Secret Service has contracted an outside private security company, the Arcus Group, to provide extra perimeter security. Also various LE agencies across the country are sending officers to help out on Monday. For example, San Antonio P.D. is sending 60 officers to D.C..
