rbert0005That’s a new one on me.
Why would they be branded if they were unlocked?

Some sort of deal with the FCC. Every 4G LTE phone from Verizon is unlocked. They started around the time the IPhone 6 came out IIRC

architectAll "unlock" implies on a GSM phone is that SiM cards from arbitrary vendors will be recognized. In other words, the OP will not receive any benefit from the unlock until he obtains a SiM card from another vendor and replaces his old one.
In fact, phones don't even "know" whether they are locked or unlocked. What matters is whether they can access the SiM that is inserted in them at the time. The "lock" in question is to a specific provider's SiM identity.
Some phones have slots for two SiMs, for a primary and backup provider. These are usually unlocked out of the box, rather than "double locked."
So you really can't tell if "the unlock worked" until you insert a new provider's SiM card. If the phone sees it, the phone is unlocked, if not, well...

sredingI unlocked my galaxy s6 with at&t without any issues, but I've heard it's more of a hassle with apple phones.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

Not plugged in. But we had completed our contract as well as others have mentioned.

There very much is a benefit to me for it to be unlocked. I am going to sell them to one of the buyback companies and they give about $50 more per phone unlocked compared to them being locked to T-Mobile.
I have 2 to get rid of so an extra $100 is a nic benefit to me.

HRKATT unlocked my old 5s phones (3 of them) within 24 hours of the request no problemo...
Artie, Just turn on WiFi and then you can stream data from your in home wifi network to your old iphone.
It's not going to work outside of the range of the wifi, so you may have to put repeaters all over the farm

Black92LXThese clowns are really pissing me off.
The 6S unlocked no issue but the SE will not.
Have called them multiple times and they say they will try to send the activation again.
