Well, the title pretty much is the question.
If you could hang out with (up to) three (living) forum members, no matter the distance or logistics, who would it be? What would you do?

There are so many people I would like to meet in person and chat with. So many people with so much knowledge. It’s a question I am struggling with an answer to.

As far as what to do, I’d have them come to my house. Take them out to see some of the cool off roading areas of central AZ. We would have to get in some shooting time, easy to do around here.
I’d cook a heck of a good bbq dinner. Sit around and listen to their life experiences and learn something.

As far as who, well this is tough.
Prefontaine, on his cheat day, with concessions to eat a little unhealthy. The guy is super abrasive and rather interesting.
Para, because after this many years in the forums, there would have to be some interesting stories, plus he seems quite intelligent and interesting.
Last would probably be PHPaul. Super nice guy and seems to be really mechanical.

Yeah, probably a stupid thread, but I am planning an off road trip with some people and I was thinking “who would I like to take from the forum?”

Don’t get me wrong, there are a bunch of people here I would really like to meet and hang out with. If any of you are ever in the Cottonwood AZ area, hit me up.

I would round up the whole Sigforum Bar Association. Lawyers are really only any fun around other lawyers.

Dave Truong for sure, because been there done that and always a good time.

Brecaidra because I'm sure I owe her a drink.

List goes on quite a bit. Maybe Old Rugged Cross, get him inside and electric car and show him my solar panels.

And of course JAllen.

Very gratified to be mentioned, thank you!

Like (I suspect) most of us, I'd enjoy meeting pretty much everybody on the board. Narrowing it down to three would take a lot of doing, but based on responses to some of my rants and other indications of Curmudgeonly Brotherhood, Leemur and OKCGene would be near the top of the list for sure.

I can't pick three. Un-possible. I have met, shot with, and / or broken bread with, at least two dozen members, and enjoyed every one of the experiences.

More than one person I met through SIGforum has become a good friend.

It’s a small, very small town. May I ask who? If they are near my age, I very well may have known them.

Any 3 random “high profile” members would be fine.

That’s where the question came about. My Jeep only holds three people and me.

See my struggle. The hard part, is picking three. It’s difficult. Not impossible, but damn, it’s hard.

LOL

I’m glad I’ve been around long enough to ‘get’ most of the inside references.

Been there, done that, bought him a beer. Wink

He knew of a place on Coronado Island (bar/pub type place) which sold some full size prints of guys on the flightdeck and which was the centerfold of All Hands (navy rag).

That name was first to mind.

Having met a handful, LBJ, Flashguy, and others I can say no matter who was picked it’d indeed be a diverse group.

As a group or one by one? I'd travel to hang with:

Lots comment on the UP as a beautiful place to visit. And it is. But if you are a history buff, the Yoop has a boom / bust history similar to the western US. Mining and lumbering boomed then faded out and have left behind a lot of history and old towns that are mere shadows of themselves. Riding my motorcycle to explore these sites is one of my main activities.
Examples of ghost (shadow towns) towns:
Republic. Seney. Central Mine. Beacon. Michigamme. Atlantic Mine. Grand Island. Blaney Park.
Like shipwreck history? We have it. Some divable, too.
And we have many historic lighthouses too. Seul Choix is my favorite.
Come up after Labor Day. Less bugs. And less tourists.

Lol, thanks Aeteocles. I am up for that. Smile

There are so many. Over the years I have had great interactions with so many. Too many to list. Feel blessed by every one. Don't take any of them for granted.
Quite a few are no longer active.

Likewise. My sentiments as well.

(Hell, my father is a member here. I’d love to sit down and have dinner with him.)
