Well I have a pair of Aviators with green lenses, a pair with grey lenses, a pair with amber lenses, and a pair with gold tinted lenses. That one is the pair I bought in 1987 called The General commemorating 50 years of whatever. The frames are 24ct gold plated. I looked some up on e-bay and holy shit, they were $1400 dollars.

You guys have posted some expensive sunglasses. Believe it or not, the $20 Costco brand ones I have had for 3 years are still doing great. I think I looked again and they're up to $30 Roll Eyes

At least since World War II.

Dugout Doug wearing Ray Bans is more of a reason for me to boycott Ray-Bans than the occupant of the White House. And I've been wearing them for over 30 years now. Plus to the best of my knowledge, Biden bought the sunglasses. I haven't heard of people trying to get the Bidens to wear their clothes for their name promotion. How many times during the Obama's did we have to hear about Michelle's fashion and what she was wearing?

The traditional style of aviator sunglasses were introduced in 1939 and adopted by the US military in 1941.

I lost a very expensive pair of Maui Jim’s on a party fishing boat in NJ and gave up on that idea. Now it’s a $20 pair of Foster Grants that I wear until they break or get lost.

I still have my yellow, gray, and green Ray Ban's from the 60's for shooting skeet, trap, Bullseye, fishing and hunting. I still use them and may pick a pair when I am buried.

You can put Ran Ban's on a turd but it is still a turd. Big Grin

Most of the Ray-Bans are made in China anyways. Only the very high end models get made in Italy. The old glass lenses are the best from the USA days of Ray-Ban. I'm not throwing my Ray-Bans away anytime soon but I am going to check out that American Optical for any future sunglasses.

Lost a pair of Maui Jim Kahuna's when I stupidly sat them on the top of my SUV when getting something out, wife took the car to the store and they were gone. Did get another pair though.

I have aviators from Costa and could not be more pleased. Lots of style and lens options.
