As I have never been a purist for cutting implements. I use Rada cheap serrated knives for any and all cutting on a ceramic plate. I also stroke them ( just like with my straight edge) on a steel to bring back a very sharp edge quickly. I have yet had to replace any as they are good to go after 10 yrs of use.

Just a couple of months ago we finally caught a set of Henckels Professional “S” steak knives on sale. They match the kitchen knife set that we’ve had for several years. We had been using an inexpensive set of serrated steak knives that we received as a wedding gift, many winters ago. I feel like a surgeon.

We have been using Laguiole steak knives for about 7 years now and love them. They cut like a laser, but do have a very, very fine serration on the blade. It's cut on only one side of blade rather than through entire blade like restaurant knives.

These are the ones with the little bee on the back of handle. There are a couple different models of these ranging from reasonable at ~$50 to $300. Ours are definitely closer to the lower end and still work perfectly.
