I am seeking advice on how much to pay for a P226 X-Five Entry (German-made). I know these are no longer in production and when I checked the Blue Book Value of Guns, it is supposedly valued at $1500 in 100% condition. I have not seen one at that price for years... I have someone trying to sell one for $4,500 in an unfired condition. Is that a deal or a complete rip off? Thanks!
Complete rip-off! The X-Five entry is the base model with some MIM parts. Maybe $2k right now. Personally I would buy one of the newly introduced US models- after y’all work the bugs out of them
I replaced the rear fixed sight on my entry model, and I had to order an adjustable sight from Germany. It was kind of a pain in the butt.

That is what I was thinking. Thank you for the input. I wasn't sure if the German-made aspect had a significant premium. I want a shooter, not a collection piece. I think the new US models are supposed to have external extractors. Has your internal extractor given you any issues?
Yeah... I used to see them for $1500 all the time. Maybe $2-2.5k right now. $4,500? No way.
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Absolutely this. The Entry (in Europe, it's called the Xpress) is nothing special. It has cheap plastic grips, non-adjustable rear sight, non-adjustable trigger, non-extended mags and no jet funnel. I would buy the new American made X-Fives over the Entry.
