Term life insurance
Are there any reputable sites to get multiple quotes for term coverage? I am seeing a ton of companies I never heard of and I am having a hard time ranking them. Thanks

I'm not licensed in PA, but I have a quoter app for every state. If you want me to run some for you, drop me an email (in my profile). FWIW, the best deal you'll ever get, you won't find on your own on the Internet. The best priced companies don't let you buy direct.

I just went in the DROP a few months ago and got term through this brokerage company I guess that's what it's called. Was recommend by one of the guys at the FD and several of us have used them. It was pretty easy. I took a health quiz, scored well on it and qualified for discounts well that's what was said anyways. I got a 25 year 750K policy for $152 a month Through SBLI term insurance. They gave me quotes from several insurance companies (all A+ rated and I looked them Up) with different payout and years. For me at age 49 when I got it They called my FD physician and got Labs and what not from them, 23 years worth if they needed it. Never had to do any physical for them. It was pretty pain less everything was E Document. I'm happy. Hray

Edit to add that everyone's needs and situation are a little different and for me I originaly was looking at getting 2 policies. 10 year 500K and a 25 year 500K. The first was to take me through the Drop, If things went south wife would get 1 Mil, and the next for longer term plus my drop, 457, and her 401. SBLI had the 750K 25 so went with that. between different companies the got terms to cover what ever you need. Good luck

Pick the cheapest A++ rated company and you'll be fine. If there's an A+ rated company that is significantly cheaper, go with them.

Besides rating there are only two things that matter with term life. One the length of conversion period ( if you may want permanent life insurance, or if you think based on family history you may become uninsurable in the future). Two the underwriting quarks if you have either major or minor health conditions.

Savings Bank Life Insurance (SBLI) is in 48 states and has a reputation for no-nonsense term and whole life insurance. I've been an SBLI term-life customer for 30+ years.

A strategy I employed once I decided on a benefit, was to take out two separate policies splitting that payout in half. This allowed me to drop one policy a few years ago and still maintain half that benefit for some time to come into the future for my wife now that we're empty nesters. (Half the payout is ample now that we're collecting SS and have investments.)

Just heard a Peter Schiff commercial for

I just got a small 250k 20 year term for my wife with our farmers agent that we have house and cars with. It was cheaper than the quotes on the internet and now we get discounts in both the auto and the house policy.
