I also get occasional refused emails from AOL and Comcast addresses but Yahoo has been near 100% failure since June. My host claims that Yahoo "greylisted" the server IP and they are handling it but this is too long. I send invoices via email to a small number of customers with Yahoo addresses. I think I'm going to have to switch hosts. They've been very good to me up until this point (almost 10 years). Unless this is widespread, I have no choice. Anyone else? Suggestions for new hosting?

I just sent a message to my Yahoo account (I seldom use it) from my AT&T account and it came through as well as the reply back from Yahoo. Of course, ATT.net email is Yahoo.

I haven't noticed any problems with Yahoo! Mail, but sometimes it takes a long time to transfer messages to my Outlook Inbox. flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth

I've been getting messages saying there is an issue and that account is offline. I have AT&T for internet and I think it is connected to change the made awhile ago. I use it as an alias account and their email said that starting 5/30/19 security upgrades would mean I would have to log into my regular email account and make some change. I tried to get to the bottom of it (not willing to put a lot of effort into it) and haven't solved yet.

Y! having your provider's mail server(s) greylisted should result in delayed email delivery, not undeliverable email. Y!'s mail server(s) dropping the connection like that suggests to me their servers are b0rk3d. People sending email to you will prove nothing. Suggestion: Get a Gmail account and send those few customers using Y! their invoices from there. I used to admin mail servers for a living and was, at one time, peripherally involved in the development of the mail server software your service provider is using. "America is at that awkward stage. Thanks for this information. I have a gmail account. I'm pretty sure I can use my billing email client with their SMTP. Am I correct? I definitely want the reply email to be my business email though, not the gmail address.

Do you have the SPF records set up properly? This is something I frequently see when the email is sent from a different IP address than the website server. It may be a verification thing. Yahoo sees the sending IP address and it may or may not be associated with the IP address of the domain name. There are multiple factors involved. In some cases, I go an extra step and have the email sent through my Mailgun account, but I still have to set up the DNS records with a good SPF text record to validate. Will not help with the verification Yahoo does. Yes, Yahoo does frequently delay email, but setting up SPF records and DKIM settings should be able to help with it. my SPF is running it through the mx toolbox says "SPF Included Lookups / Too many included lookups (20)". Changed it to match my other sites on the server and will see how it goes. I'll contact you about pricing and such.

By having an include for unifiedlayer.com, this refers back to Google's complete list of SPF allowed IP's and domains, using nested includes. Without delving further, I would imagine this includes hundreds of hosts/domains. I know GoDaddy's SPF record does, with nested includes. When in doubt, mumble
