Blume9mmIt has always amazed me that some of folks born here actually got their right to vote after we gave women the right to vote. How could the congress and such justify this?
Then the stupidity of those we elect to lead us tends to always amaze me.

IcabodFor stupidity try the "The Pocahontas Exception."
In 1924 the Virginia Racial Integrity Act was passed. This was part of the "One Drop Rule" which
Meant that anybody with a non-white ancestor was labeled colored.
However, most of the "First Families of Virginia (FFV)claimed Pocahontas as an ancestor. Whoops. The legislature quickly passed the "Pocahontas Exception" where people could be considered white in spite of up to 1/16 Indian blood.
BTW, her tribe gives very short shift to "I'm descended from Pocahonta" claims. They point out that she and her family turned their back on the tribe and the culture. That someone living today would have less the 1/3350 part of her.
