That's a beautiful piece of work. The sign is better sold by bidding.

That's some incredible work. Wish I had the patience for that sort of work.

That’s an awesome outcome right there. Personally I appreciate the hand carved craftsmanship of the one you did over a CNC piece. I doubt most businesses do though.

Kind of like comparing a mechanical watch to a quartz watch. You never know in the future you could get a CNC and use it for lettering and to get yourself close while finishing it by hand. That would speed up the process, especially lettering which seems like a time suck.

You have a real skill there and a great hobby that you can enjoy and if you can make a few bucks doing it all the better.

I’ve never had a hobby that I could actually make a nickel.

Going through the sequence of pictures, it is interesting and amazing to see the progression of a craftsman's work.

Like others have said, you have a real talent and a hand-carved item is so much more meaningful than anything done with CNC machines. Really beautiful work.

I’ve always liked to see folks projects with the photos of the projects progression.
So I take lots of photos and add a thumb drive with the project phots when I give the gift.
Figure some might like to have them.

Amazing work, GrumpyBiker. That's worth much more than $100. Perhaps start posting items you create for sale on Etsy? There are a lot of great craftspeople on there of all types of skills.

Nice work. I have wood carved in the past. Still have lots of Carl Heidtmann carving chisels. Years ago I took a week long class at the Frankenmuth Wood Carving school with the late Master Carver Georg Keilhofer. He was in a total league by himself. His father was a wood carver and Georg then became one. I believe Georg was originally from Oberammergau Germany before moving to the states. More recently I took @ 3 years of weekly lessons from a gentleman by the name of Bruce Downs in South Bend, IN. He commuted weekly from Lansing to Frankenmuth for approximately 10 years to study under Georg. Sadly he closed. I haven’t done much in the way of carving until recently when I started a small project. I see from your pictures that you do a nice job of letter carving. A British carver by the name of Chris Pye has an excellent book (I have one) on letter carving if you think you would like to try different styles of that particular carving. Keep up the good work! It is enjoyable.
