Innocent Motorcyclist Hit in NE Houston Road Rage Incident.
I saw this on the local Houston NBC news tonight. The turd in the white SUV was already out on bond for DWI and reckless endangerment of a child. I ride my motorcycle through here (Splendora, TX) many weekends and it really hits home seeing a fellow motorcyclist run over by a maniac.

Just after 5pm, Montogmery County dispatchers received a call from a man on US 59 northbound near Splendora. The Splendora resident reported a Hispanic male in a white Tahoe who was attempting to run him off the road. As he talked with dispatchers he slowed down and sped up but the Tahoe did the same. The reportee was driving a Volkswagen Jetta. With him were his wife and infant child. As they approached the FM 2090 exit the Tahoe came over again, striking the Jetta in the right front fender and attempted to force him into the center wall. The Tahoe then cut across all lanes of the freeway, Crossed the gore point(area of white stripes between the freeway and exit ramp) and attempted to exit. What he didn’t see was the male driver, just off work and heading home on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. As the motorcycle was exiting the Tahoe struck him causing the motorcycle to flip and ejecting the driver. MCHD along with Splendora Police responded to the scene. The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, but a lot of road rash. The driver of the Jetta provided Splendora Police with video from the entire incident including the motorcycle being struck. Splendora Police arrested Armando Montes of Cleveland. With him in the vehicle was his wife and 7-year-old child. He now faces aggravated assault charges and child endangerment.
HOUSTON – A driver is in custody Tuesday evening after a road rage wreck in Splendora that sent a motorcyclist to the hospital, according to Splendora Police Chief Wally Wieghat.
A couple caught the incident on camera as a driver in a white SUV drove erratically and hit the couple’s car multiple times. The couple called 911 and the woman can be heard describing to the 911 operator what was happening.
At one point, the couple lowered the front passenger window of their vehicle and told the man they had a baby in the car.
“Chill out bro, I got a kid,” the man can be heard yelling at the driver of the white SUV.
The driver then drives into the rightmost lane and is seen hitting a motorcyclist, who fell off. Officials transported the motorcyclist to the hospital but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, Wieghat said.
The suspect was taken into custody at the scene and had a wife and a 7-year-old child in the car.
This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.

When the driver of the Jetta pulls over to help the down motorcyclist, there is a high likelihood of him being assaulted by the Tahoe driver.

Where is the evidence that the Jetta guy pulled over to help the motorcycle guy? All the video showed was he pulled ahead of the Tahoe then stopped, then you hear, "Give me the gun". Then, the video ended.
And actually, according to the KHOU-11 reporter, it was the Tahoe nut driver that "did get out and tried to help the motorist".

There's not enough evidence for me to side with anyone but the motorcycle guy.

Sorry doc, I was just trying to make a statement agreeing with you without calling the Tahoe guy and the car assholes.

Agreed...we don't know what happened during the time proceeding the filming.
That being said, it seems that the best thing for the cameraman/follower to do would have been to just back off and let the SUV get far away. It appears that the cameraman was determined to stay right behind the SUV. They were certainly close enough to the SUV to get a tag number. Call the police, and let them handle it from there. Everyone cools off.
There was no need to pull up beside him to yell about having a kid. At some point, be the adult in the room, and just know when to walk away and let the authorities handle things.

That was my point about taking two to tango. Most of the worst road rage incidents occur when two hot-headed assholes meet on the road. Jumping out of your car with a gun while your wife and kid are in the car takes a really special kind of stupid, no matter how enraged and indignant you are about the other guy's behavior.

Yeah, if they REALLY had a kid in their car, WHY keep pace with the Tahoe and scream at the driver? Ever hear of 'de-escalation?'
Get it on video, MAYBE trail AT A DISTANCE, and then let the cops handle it. The driver endangered his kid and wife for no good reason.

Both those guys are first class assholes. Who does that, much less with their wife and kids in the car? They both need to be off the road and even out of society for a long time.
I really feel for the guy on the motorcycle though. That happened to me the last time I rode, 5 years ago now. I was in the right lane, and a guy in the left decided he needed to exit at the last minute and jerked it over. I couldn't quite get out of the way and he got me.
"The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people." "Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy." "I did," said Ford, "it is." "So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?" "It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want." "You mean they actually vote for the lizards." "Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course." "But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?" "Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

I wondered why the car driver couldn't just slow way down, or if possible exit to get out of the situation. It's not clear if the Tahoe driver would have pursued him or not. But at one point the car driver did "catch up" to the Tahoe driver to shout at him, which seemed dumb.

Can’t remember if it was the news or one of the three stories I linked, but the female passenger in the car said that if they slowed down or sped up so did the white SUV. As stated in the OP, the white SUV driver is already out on bond for a recent DWI (assuming with his kid in the car since it included reckless endangerment of a child) so it doesn’t appear to have changed his ways since this incident of intentionally hitting the car and negligently hitting the motorcycle occurred with both his SO snd kid in the car.

This has been the case with myself dealing with road ragers most of the time. "Just slow down and let them go" that shit doesn't work if they do the exact same thing as you, hitting the brakes.

Jetta driver is actually jointly responsible for the motor cyclist getting run over. BOTH drivers were road raging, and had he simply disengaged, it seems likely the Tahoe driver would not have been so wreckless and would not have hit the bike. Instead, he purposefully escalated the already dangerous situation and caused the Tahoe driver to drive even MORE dangerously. Tahoe hit the bike BECAUSE the Jetta driver escalated.
I advise all the time that, if one finds oneself engaged in a road rage incident, them the ONLY priority is to disengage. Pull off the road and stop if necesary, or exit/turn off and evade if the jerk tries to follow. Let the rager go, call 911, and protect yourself (ESPECIALLY if there are others in the car).
