Recommendation For Skin/Moisturizing Lotion For Dry Forehead? Login/Join

It seems like my forehead gets really dry and flaky these days, seems to be something that hit as I get older. I have tried two different skin lotions we have at home and both make me break out in red splotches.

I guess I need something for sensitive skin? Maybe something not greasy?

Any recommendations?

Resta Lite (formerly known as Elta Lite), this is my go-to as an eczema suffer where moisturizing is paramount during drier seasons. Unfortunately they seem to now only sell them in small 3oz containers...which may work fine for you since you're just dealing with a small area.

Zero greasiness or, feeling like a film is left behind like you get with Aveno, CeraVe, Cetaphil or Eucerin.

Dermatologist gave me a sample bottle of Aveeno. Seems OK, but I have not compared it to anything else.

It's pretty thick stuff and works well. Expensive, though.

The kid gets Aveeno while I get the Walmart brand stuff. LOL.

I'm prone to Eczema so I'm pretty careful about soaps, moisturizers, laundry detergent, etc.

For the face, try something that is both fragrance free and noncomedogenic (i.e. doesn't clog pores). I've had good luck with Cetaphil for my face as it doesn't clog pores and I don't have an eczema reaction to it. I currently have a Cetaphil knock-off brand and had good luck with it.

I definitely wouldn't use the heavy duty moisturizer on my face that I use on my shins (i.e. most eczema prone area for me) as I'd be creating blackheads and pimples.

I was having similar issues. As a dude don't really spend time moisturizing and trying to look pretty. Tried a few that broke out my face. Wife got me Clean & Clear : Essentials Dual Action Moisturizer. White bottle with orage'ish label. Works pretty good and gets rid of the dry skin.

My wife left me with some of this. She used it daily and had beautiful skin.

12.00 on Amazon. It seems pricey but a little goes a long ways. I use it on my forehead and under my eyes every couple of days.

Seriously, CeraVe®, like ZSMICHAEL suggested.

Regular body or hand lotions usually are too heavy and greasy for the face/head, and can cause breakouts.

Look for a face-specific lotion. Or use an after shave lotion, which is by definition designed to use on the face. (Note that this is very different from the alcohol-based type of "aftershave" liquid.)

I use Nivea Post-Shave Balm as lotion on my face and shaved head.

I also use Neutrogena Men's Triple Protect Face Lotion on my face and head during the summertime.

I occasionally get dry skin in the "T Zone". I've used this with a good degree of success...

E]

I had a similar complaint, also on my cheeks.

My Dermatologist told me to forget the OTC stuff and put me on a prescription for Triamcinolone cream.

You might consider having a Doc to look at it. It just depends on the diagnosis.

Best wishes to you, good luck.

I like Palmers in the jar.

...And a dermatologist if that doesn't work as the doc found some pre-cancerous cells on me about a year ago when I was dealing with something similar.

Gold Bond looks fairly clean. I'll put a dab on each forearm occasionally.
