sns3guppyJudge dismisses case against pardoned Arpaio
Arpaio was found guilty in court. He was guilty of contempt of court, but that was his only conviction. He was guilty of far more, from very egregious civil rights violations to destroying evidence. The man was a grandstander and showboat who was finally put aside.
It's nothing to do with left or right. Or wasn't, until trump pulled his stunt.
At least Maricopa County finally got a decent sheriff.

Pretty much this. Arpaio was/is an arrogant ass and some of his actions endangered officers in other valley departments. I'm glad that he's gone and it has nothing to do with political sides.

Is that some kind of formality, to seal the deal, in a manner of speaking? The president's pardon power is pretty much absolute.
Yes, it was just a formality to close the matter out on the court's docket. It usually makes a judge happy to get any matter off his docket.
