| A suggestion.... Convert the VHS tape into a MP4 file format (or whatever you like) and save it to a desktop machine. There you can edit it as you like. When you have what you want, you can always burn it to a DVD (assuming your PC has a DVD drive). Personally, the files I've created from VHS tapes stay on my desktop hard drive, and get copied to a jump drive if they need to be portable.

| GoVideo made a dual deck recorder that is capable of such a thing with zero signal loss. It can also be used as a stand alone unit.
