Anybody Else Have a Moving Tractor Style Lawn Waterer?
Got one on Amazon (wife’s favorite store now) and although it throws the water instead of dropping it, I love the thing!!!

Lay out the hose in the path you want the tractor to follow, turn on the water and, wait. Super even coverage and it’s more entertaining than watching the grass grow.

I do and loved it when I had a yard big enough to use it. Now it just sits on the shelf in the garage collecting dust Frown

My backyard is barely big enough for it and, once we leave this commie state, look forward to long afternoons watching it creep across the yard.

We had 2 when I was a kid. Thought it was the neatest thing to set up.

I have an antique one. May be Sears brand. Can’t recall. Heavy beast.

Mine’s at least 20 years old. Still makes regular trips across the yard.

Sell it to me, I’ve been looking for one. The old ones have metal parts, the new ones are quite expensive but have plastic gears that don’t last as long.

Dad had one for years and as his lawn boy part of my job entailed dragging the hose around to set up the path.

Dad's original was awesome cast-iron goodness and it followed the hose like a train on a track.

Dad bought a 2nd one and it was plastic, and every week or two the SOB would get off the hose and go off on an adventure.

I had two of the old, metal ones that weighed as much as I do. Not Really. They were great unless they decided to pull too much hose at which point they dug a hole with the drive wheels. Both had automatic shutoff valves attached to the hose at the end of the line. I gave them to our daughter when we moved into a house with a sprinkler system.

I used to but not anymore. I think I lost it in a divorce, lol. It's been awhile.

They are really cool.

I agree the older ones seemed to work better and the new ones are cheap and cheesily (word?) made.

Here is an interesting website. It's kinda defunct but still has information, lists of parts, how to, etc. Maybe if you find an old one this website might be of some help, as limited as it now is.

I had one and used it two or three times before I installed an irrigation system

If your yard is big enough, you could use it to pull targets and get some practice in.
