They make a mag sleeve out of kydex for pocket carry.
www.ammo-armor.com

I would think that dozens of kydex holster makers would offer similar sleeves, but I've asked around w/o success.

Application:
Springfield XD .45 acp

Is there a better option ?

I've been using their stuff for a number of years and it's not kydex. Instead, it's a like a synthetic soft rubber similar to a thin piece of silicone, like a you'd use in a kitchen to bake with or as a trivet.

I use them often to put a spare mag in a pocket or in luggage. Very good product and much better than leather.

Does the mag draw out easily? Like, if I had the mag in my pants pocket, I can pull the mag free and the sleeve stays put?

Thank you, I think I'll pass for that specific usage.

Roguejsk you get an A+ plus for effort
The wings and mini paddles on those you found may be good for front and rear pants pockets
But
The sleeves I mentioned by armor allow me to utilize the ruler pocket on my carpenter jeans.
( Side of the thigh)

I might be looking for something that does not exist at this point.

Then check out the last link in my above post, for the Snagmag. It might fit the bill. Lets you clip a magazine holder so it sits down inside your pocket like a deep carry pocket knife, and it's barely wider than the magazine itself so it should fit whatever carpenter jean pocket you're envisioning (if the mag itself fits in the first place).

Though I'd be concerned about whether you'd be able to easily draw a spare magazine from a skinny pocket like you're describing... You might have to reconsider your plan to carry a magazine in that pocket after testing it out.

They do offer a Snagmag model for your XD .45 magazine.

I have used the SnagMag in the leg pockets of my Carhartt carpenter pants. It works. But I dont use it that often.

Lint, dust and dirt is the enemy , or so Ive been told.

I have a snag mag and it works pretty well. The problem is I usually have all kinds of other crap there in my pocket which requires relocation.

No pocket mag set up is good if your comparison model is a normal range day where you have a mag holder off your belt and you can do the change at competition speed.

The question comes down to how much of the gray man do you want or need to be. If one were to knowingly head where trouble might be possible or is realistically possible yes, a multi mag set up on your belt would be ideal but a CCW carry is different.

CCW draw is slower than a straight drop holster on range day and mag changes are also slower. They are not fast, regardless if your mag holder is leather, kydex or silicone. It's just the nature of gray man CCW carry.

I don't find leather or silicone mag holder to be a perfect solution but for me, and only me, they work. When is the last time, if ever, that you heard of a CCW holder firing more than 15 rounds in a SD scenario and then had to do a pronto mag change?

If you believe in run, hide, fight the times where a quick mag change from your pocket makes the difference are hard to recall. I'm open to being educated but not where it's theory or speculation.

The mag holder material isn't important for actual CCW shooting in the totality. It's more important to have the ammo than anything else but how you carry it is not dispositive, IMO.

I have a couple ExtraCarry pocket mag holsters

https://www.extracarry.com

Excellent product IMO, but I still use my Neomag more mainly because it is slimmer in the pocket. These are intended to be a deep carry, so what I do to make the mag ride higher is order the size for the smaller mag i.e- I use a Glock 26 ExtraCarry to hold a Glock 19 mag, or a Glock19 ExtraCarry to hold a Glock 17 mag.

I have tried a number of pocket magazine carriers, and found the SnagMag to be the best. I use it every single day to secure an extra mag for one of my carry pistols.

Made of some kind of metal, they hold the mag in place in my left front pocket mirroring the position of my flipper knife carried in my right front pocket. Both stay back against the rear of the pocket at the seam and are held in place by the pocket clip. Just like my flipper knife doesn't wander around on my pocket or fall out, my extra mag stays securely where I have placed it.

I have found they are pretty fast for reloading since the mag is always in the same place and it's just a bit lower than if it was on my belt.

I have, or have had, one for every semi I've owned and all have worked perfectly. I've tried several of the others mentioned here but for various reasons, mostly security, did not care for them.

If I could find a mag holder that covered all of the metal,
I'd remove the pocket clip and call it good.

Turns out that yes indeed they are the only people making a mag sleeve for pocket carry.

As their website is SO HORRIBLE
I won't be purchasing from them.

If you find yourself in way too good of a mood and feel the need to blow up your blood pressure, go ahead check'em out.
Or maybe even call'em

I’ve been carrying a 1791 snagmag for a Glock 48 for about 2 months with no issues. Haven’t been to the range with it just some dry fire practice. Not really fast but it works.
