Handgun rounds annually
All calibers combined, how many handgun rounds do you fire per year? I’d be surprised if I averaged more than 1500 rounds each year.

I average 10 to 15 thousand a year total. I also shoot around 5 thousand rounds between skeet and trap per year.

I’ve had periods where my round counts were high and I was shooting more than 10k rounds per year and around 5k rounds of shot shells on Sporting Clays. I no longer compete and train very specific drills, usually on very specific details that I am working on. I haven’t done as much shotgunning this past year but have been doing more rifle work. I try to take at least one training class per year as well. I’d estimate that I’m shooting about 3,000 rounds per year, but shooting exponentially better than when I was slinging brass and competing.

For the last few years I have been focusing on rifle stuff, and typically go about 14 K a year in rifle the last few years.
Piatol used to be over 80% of my expenditures annually. Now I am down to about 4k a year.

My son and I went through about 10k of 9mm alone last year...I was probably about 80% of that. I don't really track it, but that's how many small pistol primers I went through. I shoot other stuff as well, but not in the same volume. I'd say I'm probably at about 10k total across all calibers.

Around 3000 rounds last year, mostly 9mm and 22s. Not near as much as I did before I got old and retired.

2023 - about 4500
2024 - about 2500
2025 - about 3500
2026 YTD - about 300

Airguns I average out to about 18 shots per day since 2020 or so.

I haven’t been doing a ton of rifle stuff as of late.

300 until either we can buy ammo without an ffl or start reloading.

Dunno, I don’t keep track of that. When I was shooting USPSA it was prolly 5000 in one gun. I know that bc I changed the recoil spring yearly and it became weaker after about 5000

Now days, probably 500/gun (5) annually. I’m just shooting groups or bill drills no I quit USPSA

I shoot once or twice a week during the season from Spring to Fall. Usually shoot 200-300 rounds per session.

In 2025 probably 3000-3500 rounds (maybe more). Lots or 9mm and 380. This year probably more 40 S&W as I recently bought a Glock 40 with a conversion barrel.

time wise, lucky to get 500 rounds,
and that includes a yearly trip to the range with the Thompson SMG

add I was doing better with Rifle, since I started shooting matches again,
however my gunshow schedule and knees have me missing a mot of matches, and when I do go, I tend to get sidelined either calling the match or coaching someone,

offhand and prone I can handle,
sitting is getting so it hurts,

Last year about 40k of 9 and half that of 556. This year is on track to be more between work and matches.

I did not really keep track pre-2024 but it was not nearly that much. Maybe half, but probably even less.

Up until a couple years ago, 5K-10k between 9, 45, and 38/357. Then I found my niche shooting benchrest .22lr. Down to 500 +/- rounds handgun now. Just shy of 25K rounds of .22lr last year though. It's nothing for me to sit there and put 1K rounds through in a session. Better than any meditation I've ever tried.

Questions:

1) How do you maintain such a precise count?
2) When Dececember 31 rolls around, would you please finish off the box?! My OCD is killing me!!
