Grippier grips.

Mike - My hands sweat a TON and this was the best $5.00 solution I found that worked for me because the spray did not last - for me.

A simple easy to find at most any sporting goods store or your local Wal-Mart - A ROSIN BAG…

The only reason I like Talon Grips because the come pre-cut. For me, the grit wears off too fast, the same with skateboard tape.

If you're going to go the Grip Tape route, 3M makes a no-skid stair tape that can be found at any Home Depot / Loews for about $12 a roll. You are going to have to cut it yourself and apply it to the grip. I want to say the first time I put it on, it lasted 8 years on my duty gun.

(*** If this is the route you're going to go, please shoot me an email and I'll send you some for free! - Do you know how long a 12 foot roll will last you? A really, really long time!)

You want something that's gonna stick to your paws? Well.... These are really aggressive grips! That's if you can change your grips.
Hogue rubber grips work great as well for sweaty / wet hands

A GOOD Stippling job helps a lot too. (Please don't do it yourself- see my previous rant) I had a good job done on my G-19 and it's held up, it's a little rougher which makes for better friction in my hands, and it's actually more comfortable to hold & shoot. Downside is some can get $$ and the turn around time.

A good pair of thin gloves helps

Pine tar or some sort of rosin. (Think what baseball players use on their bats) You want it off? Rubbing alcohol / Break Cleaner and an old toothbrush.

It's a competition-only gun, so I don't usually worry about it. But I have cleaned it up with just water and a soft brush. One gun is a P320 X-Grip with Talong grips and I've used ProGrip with no issue.

On all my "go to guns" stairway tape gets placed wherever my hand grip requires.
I want something that even my bloody hand gets a firm grip on.
I could care less how the gun looks.

Gentlemen, thanks for your suggestions. I am going to try the rosin bag, then the pro Grip.
This is also a carry gun with an optic. I want to keep the gun reasonably clean. I have tried the 3M and skateboard tape on other guns. Not interested in changing out the grips.

So I'm also one of those are gifted with sweaty hands and on top that seem to sweat acid (I've least rust fingerprints on tools before in the summer).

I know you're looking for a spray or cream but I haven't found one that works. I also hate shooting with gloves. The only thing I've found besides new grips or stippling or the sort is Goon Tape. It's basically hockey tape but doesn't leave a residue when taking it off. It's super thin (with a single or double wrap the checkering on a Glock will stand out under it). Its under 10 dollars a roll and last a long time.

The only issue I've run into with it is wrapping it on top of rubber grips. Did this on my buckmark since my skateboard tape on the front and back strap finally wore smooth. When I detail cleaned it months after it being on it left a residue on the rubber but was easy to rub off, and was getting rewrapped anyway so didn't care.

Highly recommend trying it. Use it on all my comp guns, wrapped the grips on my defense ar's, and my carry guns (Glock and a p365). Clothing doesn't get hung up on it like rubber either, and it's smooth so doesn't tear through clothing like skateboard tape does.

I would highly recommend Talon grips. The granulate is a sandpaper style grip and it is excellent. It’s only $20. If you don’t like it you are out $20. I have them on all my full size duty style pistols. I won’t have a home defense gun without a Talon granulate grip on it. It glues the gun into your hand. They also have a rubber and a ‘pro” grip but I much prefer the sand paper grip of the granulate. For conceal carry this would be too much grip. But for full size guns in holsters or night stands… this grip is hard to beat.
