I am sure there are, maybe, but nothing really comes to mind.

Mentioned this in another post. Chi-coms purchased Cirrus aircraft a couple years ago. Their manufacturing facility is located on the Duluth International airport grounds. Probably about a thousand yards from the 148th ANG fighter wing. They can sit in their offices and watch the ANG activities all day.

I did not realize that China had purchased Cirrus. That freaking blows. We are being absorbed folks...slowly but surely.

There's a lot more than you think. One friend works at a Chinese owned company that makes brake and suspension parts. Another works at a company that makes trailers. Both of these are in Indiana.

Haier appliances owns GE appliances now. Motorola is owned by Lenova. SharkNinja appliances and Smithfield foods are Chinese owned too.

Not manufacturing but AMC theaters is owned by Wanda real estate, and they wanted to buy one of the Hollywood studios.

Really this isn't that much different than Japanese, Korean, and European companies making products here. One difference is that no Chinese complete carmaker is here, just parts makers.

You know all that money being sent over there for the stuff we buy from them? It has to come back somehow.

All of these mentioned seem the be American companies that were bought by the Chinese and just kind of took over what was already here.

Any actual Chinese based companies that did not originate here?

I would argue it is very different. Chinese motivation is far more than monetary profits. Their endgame is about global positioning and opportunity to control supply chains and productions down the road.

I’d argue there is a substantial difference.
