I have a very annoying and incredibly peculiar issue with my 2016 Toyota Sienna. My vehicle will begin to play a Dr Dre song automatically anytime my phone connects to the vehicle. If I am listening to a song or running any navigation app as soon as I pause or stop the navigation it will auto play. Any time I halt anything on my phone or pause a song on any music playing app the stupid Dr Dre song begins almost as if some demon is living in my vehicle and is trying to distract me or annoy me. I did some research and discovered this issue is not specific to Toyota but appears on other vehicles as well. Does anyone know how to fix the incredibly annoying flaw with Apple and my vehicle? I cannot for the life of me understand why the brilliant fux at Apple have not corrected this problem. It has probably killed people if I had to guess because of its prevalence and unwavering determination to play music without any permission and to do so over and over and over. Words cannot convey to you guys how frustrating and infuriating this issue has been. I was hoping a newer phone and recent OS would fix it but NOPE. The issue persists. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

The aftermarket stereo in my Mustang does this. Regardless of which song is cued up in iTunes, it automatically connects with and starts playing the AC/DC Back in Black album without me touching anything. Could be worse, I suppose. At least it's not Dr. Dre. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.

My truck and pontoon both have pioneer aftermarket head units that do the same thing. Both fire up iTunes when a connection is made and play the first song in the list. I don’t even use iTunes music so I just deleted all songs off my phones iTunes library and didn’t give it permission to use cellular data. It works sometimes now and will play what ever I was last playing in Spotify. Occasionally, it wants to fire up the podcast app. Nothing like firing up the radio on the boat just to have Ben Shapiro’s voice blaring at you. ____________________ I Like Guns and stuff

If you have Spotify installed on your phone that might be the issue. The other day I opened the app for the first time to search for a song. A song started playing and I paused it, searched for the song I wanted to no avail, then closed the app. The next time I turned on the car it started playing that song again. I looked and the Spotify app wasn’t open at all, even in the background. So I deleted the app. That’s absurd and unacceptable to me. My car automatically plays whatever I was last listening to usually, either from Apple Music or from Audible. But when it does at least the app is visibly opened allowing me instant control to pause it or change it. “Everybody wants a Sig in the sheets but a Glock on the streets.” -bionic218 04-02-2014

My phone was doing this as well. I found some bloatware music app that came preloaded on the phone that has some songs preloaded. It would auto play just as you describe. I force stopped the app and the issue stopped. You might try opening up your apps list and look for music apps you don’t use. ______________________________ “I'd like to know why well-educated idiots keep apologizing for lazy and complaining people who think the world owes them a living.” ― John Wayne

Thank you Very little |
My Harley Radio does this when I first connect the radio, it plays the first song in the list of songs. However when I reconnect the phone after stopping it will continue with the last song played.

It’s something to do with iTunes. In my case, it’s my ice cream truck song ringtone

Definitely an Apple issue. My 2014 Ram did the same thing for a while, it would default to the first album in my Apple Music library. I tried removing the first album, it would then default to the first song. I finally just started picking an album when it first connected. After a week or so, the issue went away and hasn't happened again. That's been 1.5-2 years ago. ___________________________ Not giving a damn since...whenever...

Unless it is this! Though I believe we have Scott Storch to thank for it even though Dr. Dre gets the credit. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. ^^^ that instrumental brings up quite a bit of high school nostalgia!!!! I’ll never forget the first time I heard it. My friend’s dad bought a land yacht (1980’s caddie) and my best friend got the keys so we went joy riding out to VA beach to cruise the strip. We had some of the neighborhood girls along for the ride and had a blast! Some of the best times of my life were had listening to that album. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance
