Watched - cancelled - free speech under fire. Thought it was well done. Finding free stuff on roku is enjoyable. More so knowing I am keeping a hundred dollars from ATT every month.

What those AT&T scoundrels recently did after my cancellation of Direct TV thru them was to jack up the price of their internet charges. It did cut a little into the monthly savings from cutting the chord but not being loyal to any of these companies anymore, I'm thinking of jumping ship to another company for internet. The "cutting the chord" to streaming over the last few months has worked out just fine, and a much more satisfying experience with wider ranging options, especially when it comes to cancelling some streaming services and trying another without early termination fees. It was mentioned in another thread that there are still some services I think like Amazon that may have these early terminations fees but I've already jumped ship from SLING TV to PHILO at no additional costs and still saved a few $$ in the process for the same content.

Not a big fan of AT&T.

If you time it right, sign up for Xfinity for their introductory rate for a year or two, then switch back to AT+T when that expires for their introductory rate, and back and forth...... it's a PITA to swap equipment back and forth every year or two but a way to save money.

Yea jimmy, I've had my eye on Xfinity for sometime now. I was originally going to jump ship from AT&T and go with Xfinity 2-yr deal before I cut the chord and went streaming. Nowadays, I don't mind jumping ship for a few $$, I've no loyalties.

This is where I hope 5G comes into the equation and completely removes these companies pseudo monopolies on high speed internet. When Verizon and T-Mobile start offering a 5G modem and SIM for less money than your current cable internet, with no cable required and at the same or better through put speeds, Comcast, Xfinity, Spectrum, AT&T, and others are going to see their business model change dynamically.
