I drive past Dawson Forest where these shitbag leftist freaks were squatting every time I go to SC's house.

My first thought was a pile of hippie trash on a drug fueled bender is going to leave a trail of bodies.

And I was right. They should have shut that shit down like Atlanta did freaknic.

LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. - The Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office is working to identify a woman police say was murdered by someone she met at the Rainbow Family of Living Light Gathering.

Authorities told Channel 2 Action News they were contacted by the Elizabethtown Police Department in Kentucky about the arrest of Joseph Bryan Capstraw, 20, who said he met the woman at the gathering in Lumpkin County.

The Rainbow Family is a name for a very loose collection of self-described misfits, nature-lovers and artists who gather once a year in a national forest. This was their 47th gathering, but the first in Georgia.

According to authorities, the woman accompanied Capstraw as they left, hitchhiking from the event.

The Sheriff's Office says they want to know who she is so she can be returned to her loved ones.

Channel 2's Michael Seiden covered the gathering near Dahlonega. Many of the people he met on assignment told him they do not go by their legal names during the event. That could prove to be a challenge for investigators.

Pikeys.

Been that way for as long as I can remember.

I can guarantee the forest will take years to recover. Everywhere they go they tear stuff up.

Its too bad the woman got killed, I hope they can identify her and bring the offender to justice

Won't be the last given the nature of the people who camp at these things.

In any event, deputies got about 30 guys to interview named "Owl" and another 10 named "Rain" with no last names.

Fookin hate Pikeys... LOL

We used to get the annual gathering in FL, right in my patrol district. Hated that time of year - they would steal anything that wasn't nailed down, would completely trash the area they were in, and were a 24/7 headache for us and the USFS. I swear it would take weeks to get the stench out of the back of my Jeep after arresting one.

Wow, how can a 54 year old grandmother of two have not realized that this is something you should not attend? I guess age doesn't always equal wisdom.

Yeah, I have heard of these dirtbags since college. Imagine taking the cast from Billy Jack, mix in some hippie biker dudes, throw in a bunch of Deadheads, and you have a good idea of the demographics. They have no regard for the land, they have no regard for others outside of their clan. Just a bunch of goddamn hippies.

This afternoon they are having a protest in town against the claimed police violence and poor treatment by local LEO's and the Park Service police.
That should be interesting.

I hope we deny their permits in the future.

The original incarnation of the event was a annual gathering of likeminded dreamers and ideologues who didn't want to commit being apart of Stephen Gaskin's The Farm in Tennessee. One of the things about joining The Farm is you had to get-along with each other and follow all the guidelines...you know, laws and socialy acceptable behavior; like any other society. These Rainbow clowns are the misguided souls, misfits and low-end of the hippie pool. They attract a number of social deviants with a wide range of pathologies.

The reporting is pretty sloppy here, too. How do we know the cause of death? She or both she and the Washington woman may have OD'd or just passed away from the smells around her. So let me get this straight. Someone, unknown, dies as we infer murder. She was with a bunch of smelly no good slime who don't use their real name, but have since left the area. The woman in GA might have come from KY, or anyplace else. We have no suspects, no name for the victim or how she passed. We're calling it murder for the lack of a better term. Sounds like a waste of taxpayer dollars unless someone comes up with even an idea.

I'm from this county and all the locals didn't want them but being a poor rural county with too few sheriff's deputies and a Forest Service that pretty much didn't want to do anything, it was a big mess.

People called them hippies but this particular group (from below article) consisted of malcontents that fled to the margins of society because they were either running from something, hiding out or predators.
