President Trump has pardoned former Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the notorious Arizona lawman who was set to serve a prison sentence over discriminatory policing.
“Throughout his time as Sheriff, Arpaio continued his life’s work of protecting the public from the scourges of crime and illegal immigration,” the White House said in an announcement Friday night.
