I have two Cuisinart food processors with a few blades but can't find a blade attachment that will grate. Not like box grater grating with holes. Rather fine grating like daikon oroshi - very finely grated daikon or wasabi or ginger. Think perhaps of baby food puree. Cuisinart used to offer the blades but no longer, at least not for my models. They were basically a solid disc but with fine, small sharp teeth.

I'm open to buying a new food processor but a grater blade must be an option for it. Hopefully both at reasonable prices. Want good quality like restaurant grade (is that a good thing? or is that like military grade?).

I can't find one yet but I think they should exist. Any recommendations?

When I want finely-chopped I use the regular steel blade at the bottom of the carafe, sometimes first with the coarse top-of-the-carafe grater (4.6 mm holes). The steel blade with a spatula to push down the wanna-escapees will get you there pretty quick.

I don't recall ever seeing a finer top-of-the-carafe blade. Seems like the angled holes would be necessary to pull the food down, a box grater-like protruding teeth would grind, but not allow the processed item to descend into the carafe. However, a quick search on Amazon reveals the DlC-035TX-1 which seems to have finer teeth than the one I have.

Or, use a blender, counter or immersion.

For grinding hard spices, not much beats a metate.

^^^^ That looks like it would work best with hard cheeses (like parmesan cheese). Soft/medium cheeses might gum it up.

Probably right. Only planning to use it with daikon, ginger, yamaimo, and perhaps other root type veggies. No cheese.

Thanks. That's way too coarse for what I'm seeking. I want something that is almost a puree.

When you go to a Japanese restaurant and they give you grated daikon on the side for some dishes (like for the tempura dipping sauce), that's the fine grate I'm seeking. Not pieces, more like particulate.

Thanks. Yes, I have one similar and other graters as well. They work fine for small single servings.

I'm looking for something that will help me grate at scale. Like large servings for 6; say about 3 lbs of daikon. That's pretty tiring for an old guy like me.
