When I was assigned to the Pentagon in the mid-70s, it was still possible to park all day on the streets that ran the length of the Mall. I’d drive there on a Sunday, leave my vehicle, and enter the museums when they opened. Until things got busier later, I’d frequently be in a gallery by myself. And if even today tourists were being murdered in and around the museums and monuments, do we believe for a moment that it wouldn’t be national news? “I can’t give you brains, but I can give you a diploma.” — The Wizard of Oz This life is a drill. It is only a drill. If it had been a real life, you would have been given instructions about where to go and what to do.

Just for the hell of it |
I have to go into DC for work ever once in awhile. Depending on where I'm going I know if it will be a easy trip or I will want to bang my head against a wall. DC has it's issues as does any city but the mall area, monuments, WH and Capital area are something special. If you get a chance take an evening after sunset walk around the was monuments on the mall. You will not be disappointed. I've walked that area many times and one of my most memorable was in the middle of the night. Very few people out and those place light up is something special. _____________________________________ Because in the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. my two favorite monuments are Lincoln and Jefferson - they're stunning at night you should be pleased that most of the politicians and their associated retarded staff are not there - almost makes Washington tolerable. Washington would be an absolutely wonderful city if it weren't infested with politicians for easy entertainment, go to the Treasury building and give them the middle finger - you will feel better

Yep, they are milking Covid like a cow. Will check in with the secret squirrels tomorrow; seems like one of them said the empty Federal buildings will continue until the first of 2023.

The fact they’ve been empty for two years simply proves they should be put up for sale and sold off.
