A big shout out to Trinity!!! The 2019 GISA high school track and field championships were held April 25th, 26th & 27th in Albany Georgia. Our 8th grade girl was quite the over achiever. In GISA 8th graders can compete in high school sports. In GHSA 9th grade is cutoff for high school competition. She ran varsity HS track this season and went undefeated in the 100m, 200m, long jump and as anchor for the 4x100m relay team. At the regional meet at Georgia Southern University she placed 1st in the 100, 200, long jump and again as anchor for the 4x100 relay team. Her 4x400 team placed 3rd. She won the region high point AAA girls champion. Heading to Albany she was ranked #1 in the state in the long jump. On Thursday she qualified a very close 3rd in the 100 and 2nd in the 200. Let the stress and crankiness of competition pressure begin. To win she would have run her best sprints of the year. On Friday she finished 1st in the long jump. On Saturday in the 100 final she got a good jump out of the blocks, ran her best 100 of the year and won a very close race. In the 200 final she found another gear, never let off the gas and won by a full stride. IMHO I did not think she would win the 100 or 200. Her 4x400 team placed 3rd and her 4x100 team placed 5th. She won the GISA state AAA girls high point champion. She is also a USAG competitive gymnast during track season. I don’t know where she finds the energy to do both at the same time. She’s a skinny, long legged, gangley looking 14 year old girl but man she can run fast. We had a great time watching all of the athletes and me and mama could not be more proud of our girl. Congratulations Trinity. Would any Sf faithful post a couple of vids please? Email in profile thank you. | ||
