Just saw a teaser that said 60 minutes is doing a story apparently about open carry tonight. So if your blood pressure is getting a little low.......

JALLENNothing to worry about. They would Rather the stories be fiction, unrestrained by actual reality.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.
When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown February 11, 2018, 08:43 AM
EponymI used to watch 60 Minutes. They were biased and untruthful in everything they said and I couldn't stand watching any more. I stopped watching at least 10 years ago.

220-9erThey are usually news theater, designed more for entertainment and ratings, than real news.
Nothing to see here.

egregoreI wonder if they will show, for example, the guys carrying rifles in Starbuck's as representative.
Especially after the Katie Couric/VCDL affair, a gun owner, let alone an open carrier, would be crazy to let any "'news' organization" interview him or her. But just as Charlie Brown kept trying to kick the football, people keep going back for more.

Ronin1069Oh yeah. This will be a hack job, no questions asked. Just watch the preview video within the 60 Minutes link.

Well played, sir, well played indeed.

Jimbo54It seems to be more about concealed carry than open carry. Either way, I'm not watching.

Liar, liar, Pants on Fire.
vance, debasio, cumo have all run their fly-traps about how VA needs to change their laws because whatever. Bloomberg sent snoops squads across the country to 'discover' how easy it was to buy a gun so as to terrify the nation about the gun epidemic.

When exatly was that?
I remember my Mother and I watching the show in the very early 80’s and I seeing my Mother get all outraged and shit. I was just watched the show waiting for CHiPs to start but my Mother seemed to be feeding on the outrage and indignation 60 minutes was proffering. Of course given my young age at the time I would have never summarized it that way.
I was under 10 years old (born in 1974) and apolitical at the time but it seemed like the show was some kind of guilt trip that people who used to be hippies or were sympathetic to the hippies would watch and get all huffy about afterward. Once a month I visited my Grandparents and the tone of 60 minutes seemed to basically go against anything my Grandparents believed, valued and used as conventional wisdom.
For that reason I quietly hated that show. Nothing has happened to that show in the past 35 years to convince me to alter my opinion.

You must be at least as old as I am, to remember when they were reputable. That ended by the early 1970's, as I remember it, and that's when I stopped watching it.

Graniteguy60 minutes is still on? Who the hell watches that garbage?
February 11, 2018, 04:09 PM
Lord VaalicI think we all know already without even watching a second of it what it will be. 99% anti gun BS propaganda with 2 seconds of some NRA rep thrown in for "balance"
It will be a giant hit piece. I wont even tune in to see the train wreck and give them the extra rating.

Was that not the bunch that broke several federal laws in "proving their point"? Crap like phony documentation, lying on the forms, etc!
Yeah, lots of "reporting" going on there!
60 minutes is full of shit, has been full of shit for decades. Several decades now.
Rather, himself, is a damned liar as he proved long ago.

Oh, I'll watch. Know your enemy, and all of that....
I was really hoping that the national reciprocity bill would progress through under the radar, but no such luck.
Here's hoping that it passes. In fact, I hope to God that the Rs push it through on a majority and none of this 60 vote bullshit. Trump will surely sign it, and we will all reap the benefits.
