Not sure if I should be happy that they're finally doing this, or depressed that it took them this long to figure that out...

It's bad enough watching a biological female athlete who trained their entire life for the Olympics lose to a biological male in a race. However, that is trivial compared to biological males competing against biological women in combat sports.

An even bigger travesty than the Paris Olympics opening ceremony was watching that biological male boxer (i.e. the one had failed the IBA's gender eligibility test and since the Paris Olympics has refused to compete in any event requiring genetic testing) beat the tar out of biological female boxers. My blood was boiling watching Italy’s Angela Carini quit the fight in under a minute because the pain from the punches was overwhelming. I couldn't believe that the IOC could watch that and their only response was to condemn the criticism and call criticism abuse. The abuse happened in the boxing ring thanks to those soulless douchenozzles.

I'm happy for today's breaking news. I hope that in the last 15 or so months they cleaned house at the IOC and the soulless douchenozzles are no longer making a penny from Olympic sports.

If women are equal to men in sports, then we wouldn't need a separate women's division, we wouldn't need women's sports and men's sports, we would just have SPORTS right?

Why not just have "sports," one division, it's all equal, everyone gets to compete on one level playing field. Well it's been more than one generation since women's sports became the norm and women forgot or never learned why they were created in the first place. They need an occasional reminder, like the boy's under 15 national soccer team beating the pants off the women's Olympic team in 2017. The women and media were embarrassed because they had begun to think women were equal in sports. The separate women's divisions were created to give women chance to compete, they forgot or never learned why they were created in the first place.

The reality, there's probably a handful of major sponsors who told them to put the rule in or, we're not re-upping our contract.

Congratulations to the Olympics governing body for acknowledging the problem and doing the right thing, even for cynical or pragmatic reasons and not for moral. I have gone from active dislike of the Olympics to just not caring.

What would have happened if the US Women's Olympic Team had played a mediocre college MEN'S team? Guys who are 20 to 22 yo?

My guess is the women would have been run off the field in 10 minutes.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tried to put down Riley Gaines last week. I don't think it went so well. I could live with being the 5th fastest in the country. Apparently Lia Thomas couldn't live with being 462nd, so he started competing against women.

"Maybe if you channeled all this anger into swimming faster you wouldn’t have come in fifth," AOC wrote on X.

“Science” if you can call it that, was better in the Middle Ages than at the IOC and other athletic organizations.
Or maybe people who lived in earlier times just had their balls still intact.
