Stockholm Attack
I think it will take a bigger tragedy than this to wake up the country.
I have relatives there. They seem to believe that due to their neutral stance in most world politics, past history and their acceptance of refugees, they are somehow immune from the problems the rest of us face.
They don't seem to understand that as a largely Lutheran population, they are the enemy to many of the refugees they have encouraged to enter their country.
They have supported those refugees with generous social benefits that will eventually bankrupt them.
I'm not sure if it will be the violent culture or the financial consequences that will wake them up first.

That is very sad. I don't think any situation will change things unfortunately, look at France and Germany. How many time did they have some nut job attack them and they just go about their business as usual?

I hope they get some better people for their sake. Too many liberal politicians getting elected around the world. Hopefully it will stop.

The attacks will keep happening because European governments are in complete denial. We are witnessing a slow suicide. To the question "What will it take", the answer is that it will take it being too late to do anything about this obscenity. Thousands or tens of thousands will have to die for these infantile self-loathing imbeciles to react. In other words, a nuclear explosion in a major population center. By then, it will be too late, of course.

I read this morning that the attacker was inspired by the Boston Marathon bombing.

Were the Vikings Norwegian only? Seems like the Swedes literally have no fight in them. I understand Europe in general has become neutered but damn this is getting extreme.

I was thinking about this situation this morning, and began to contemplate as to why humans
seem to want to mess up a good thing.

When things are going well and people or countries are prospering,it is like they can't stand it and have to mess things up.

Swedes were once prosperous, healthy and lived in relative peace with one another.

1945 was the last year that Western Europeans had to really worry about the safety of their nations. This is what 70 years of peace can bring you to; the puerile idea that there are no bad people in the world- you just have to be nice to them and they will be nice to you. This is the way children think. They let into their countries psychopathic animals who hate everything about Western civilization and then refuse to even name the behavior being exhibited by these psychopaths. Where I come from, that's called "asking for it".

Well, they asked for it and now they're getting it and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

They better get it together or they will be needing some American men to come over and free their sorry butt's again. But sure seems like this is where it is headed.

Nothing short of a complete disaster will wake them from their dream.

Complete disaster = death and destruction on a massive scale = nuclear weapons

Until such time as that, it's going to be same old same old; over and over and with increasing frequency.

I fully agree (and this goes for ALL of Europe).

The truth is that they can tolerate these 'small' attacks. Muslim terrorists attack and kill several or dozens. They cry and hold vigils and change their Facebook profile pictures, then go back to life as normal until the NEXT attack (all the while, blaming the 'indigenous' Europeans for the attacks, doing meaningless stuff like covering up attacks in the media and cautioning their women to dress conservatively so as to not 'provoke' the invaders). If events in Europe so far haven't woke them up yet to the scope of the danger they face, nothing short of a mushroom cloud over Paris or London will.

This WILL happen again.

The European reaction will be the same milquetoast and flaccid response.

The inaction and weakness portrayed will invite yet MORE attacks.

Repeat as necessary until they get their hands on a nuke.

Stockholm Attacker Was ‘Rejected Asylum Seeker’: British Citizen Among Dead

Swedish police revealed Sunday the Uzbekistan citizen suspected of driving a stolen lorry into crowds killing four on Friday was a rejected asylum seeker who was wanted for deportation.

The 39-year-old man was due to be expelled from Sweden, reports the country’s best-selling newspaper AftonBladet. Police commander Jonas Hysing told the paper “we do not know where they are, so we can not enforce expulsion”, speaking of the many migrants who should be deported from the country but the government keeps no records of their whereabouts.

The officer also confirmed police were aware that the suspect had expressed an interest and sympathy for the Islamic State online.

According to the report, the man applied for a residence permit in 2014, and that it took until 2016 for it to be rejected, with the Asylum board ruling he should be deported. Officers called at his registered address in February 2017 but found he didn’t live there. Two months later it is believed the suspect stole a delivery lorry and drove through crowds and then into a department store in Stockholm, killing four and injuring 15.

One of those identified as having died in the attack was a British citizen. Another was Belgian, and two more were Swedish citizens. No identities other than nationalities have yet been made public.

Breitbart London reports Sunday that the suspect travelled to Sweden to make money in the construction trade. A source said of the man “He just wanted to make money, that’s why he was in Sweden and worked as a construction worker. His wife and children still live abroad”.

This is not the first time in recent history that a rejected asylum seeker due to be deported by the Swedish government has gone on to launch an attack against citizens in the country. Breitbart London reported on the Ikea attack in August 2015 where Eritrean migrant Abraham Ukbagabir took a packet of knives in the shop’s kitchenware department and stabbed two shoppers to death before attempting to kill himself.

He later told investigators he struck because he wanted “revenge” against Sweden for having his asylum application rejected. Despite having been so keen to stay in Sweden in 2015, the killer has since complained he doesn’t like Swedish prisons and wants to be transferred to one in Eritrea.
