sig2392Need home rowing machine recommendations
Has anyone mentioned the Concept 2?
I just check their website and the wait is 6 to 7
weeks.
Well worth the wait.

I dropped the 6 month chlorine tablet in mine today.
Water Rower is still by far the best choice in my book.

PhredI bought a WaterRower M1 high rise this past summer. It’s been great, and is relatively quiet.

TigerDoreI used the Concept 2 in the gym where I once belonged. It was excellent.
Based on recommendations from this board, and due to the fact that my wife would also use a rower at home, we bought the WaterRower in February 2016. It has also been excellent. It has one Achilles heel- the plastic rollers on the bottom of the seat. We have had to replace 2 of them, but that is easy. I now use furniture polish on the runners to minimize friction on the rollers, and that seems to have addressed the issue we had at first. Because of the friction created by the water, you can increase the resistance by rowing faster, which is a nice feature over the Concept 2.
The WaterRower is made to tilt on end for storing and the wood frame makes it an attractive in-home unit.
The only maintenance is wiping the WaterRower down and adding the chlorine tablet every 6 months.
The chain grease on the Concept 2 might be kind of nasty in the home, I don't know, but that is only thing I can think of as a negative.
They're both great. It comes down to user's preference, but I think you would be happy with either one.

Concept2 says 3-in-1 oil is the recommended oil for the chain.
Using CLP would be more than enough I would assume. I'm sure we all have and use that at home anyways.

DetonicsMk6I bought a WaterRower Club model and enjoy it immensely. One thing I enjoy is that they had an option to order with the rails longer for us tall folks.
