Does anyone own a Lucid???

Black92LXDoes anyone own a Lucid???
Still on the hunt for the right EV for me.
Lucid range is excellent. The Air Pure has all the options I need and they are now a couple years used and available for under $40k.
Plenty of passenger room and lots of trunk and trunk space.
I don’t mind the looks of the Tesla but the Lucid is WAY better looking. Especially when compared to the Y.
The Model S is the closest competitor but needs to be about 3-4 years older to get to the price point I am looking for.
Trying to retain as much of the warranties as possible.
Lots of good reviews on YouTube and Car and Driver really likes them.
The closest service location is in Nashville about 4 hours away and a Mobile Service Hub in Louisville about an hour and half away.

crue-dellI would be hesitant. Lucid had made a limited amount of cars, like 30,000 Air since introduction. Model Y is around 5 million in the same time frame. Parts may be hard to come by and the company has lost 15 billion dollars so far, their future looks bleak.

jprebbNo info on the Lucid, but...
We got a Model Y last year for my wife's daily driver. I am mind-blown at the level of technology built into this car when you consider the price.

SpinZoneI don’t have one but,
They are intriguing.
They have good specs, they have good reviews, and the production numbers are increasing.
I would be cautious, but they seem to be a rising brand.

MagnumUTest drove one a couple of years ago. The problem is they aren't making many. I liked the look and features. Went with a Tesla Model S, as it is hard for Lucid to keep up with the technology, software updates, etc., on that small an installed base and limited revenue.
I've had the Tesla Model S for 4 years. Excellent car that gets better with software updates. Full Self-Driving is truly incredible and no one offers that level of functionality.
Model S and X are discontinued. I'd recommend a Model 3 or Model Y at this time.
EVs depreciate quickly, so think about a lease or used model. Battery and other technology is evolving pretty quickly.

SW_SigLucid is majority-owned by the Saudi Royal Family and they set much of the direction for Lucid’s technology specifications.
Power instead of distance for the Gravity is one example.

That would be a deal-killer, no matter the details about the car itself.

MikeGLII'm averse to the idea of an EV for me, but should I need one or if my position on them changed, you'd be hard pressed to see me looking at any of them that didnt begin and end with the name Tesla.
I own some Lucid stock that isnt worth a fuck, so maybe I'm jaded.

P250UA5They're one of the better looking EV sedans, IMO.
I pass a Lucid & Rivian showroom [next door to each other] almost daily, if I skip the toll road to/from work.
Have seen a couple of the Gravity SUV & think it looks great too.

mrvmaxTheir financials do not look good. Stock price from 600 to less than 10 since they went public. That reason alone would keep me from buying since I would ne afraid they will go under and you will have no support for it.

Well that pretty much settle that! Did not realize this was the case.
Seems kind of like an odd couple. Silly oil money heavily investing in a pure EV.
Everything just keeps clicking back to Tesla. While I don’t hate the looks of the Y it’s not all that appealing to the eye.
With them discontinuing the S will be interesting to see what that does to the used market for that model.
And yes USED is where I am looking. Lease prices are not really where I want to be.

SW_SigLucid will be releasing two smaller SUVs soon, the Earth and the Cosmos.
Going through testing now.

HRKHad a ride in one in Las Vegas to the airport via UBER, seems Tesla, Lucid et al lease a lot of cars to UBER/Lyft drivers.
Found the rear area very tight, door top was low, hard to get in and out easy, not sure about the front.
Think a Rivian would be cool

sjtillBlack, I agree with you about the looks of the Y. However for some reason the newer model doesn't look like a teenager in the middle of their growth spurt.
OTOH, the Model 3 is probably the best looking of the Tesla models. I haven't looked seriously EV's, but for me (way older than you) not having FSD, specifically Tesla's, would be a dealbreaker.

PGTI drove a Gravity on Saturday. It's interesting...seating position wasn't nearly as comfortable as my Model X but would need some more time messing with it. The rep told me the SW is being updated for the issue I had; ever time he did something to show us features, it would load a preset profile vs. my current settings.
That's honestly my biggest worry...have they had time to get past all the bugs I've heard about. Not unique to them having lived with Tesla in the garage since 2019 (way better now than back then)
