Ivermectin ‘Safe’ and ‘Effective’ for Treating Omicron: Japanese Company

A Japanese conglomerate has found that the anti-parasitic drug ivermectin is effective and safe for the treatment of the COVID-19 Omicron variant, according to a phase III clinical trial.

Kowa Co. Ltd., a conglomerate with interests in trading, hospitality, electronics, along with health and medical applications, issued a press release (pdf) on Jan. 31 stating that ivermectin has been found to be effective against Omicron.

Kowa representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment by The Epoch Times.

The company, working with Kitasato University based in Tokyo, said that ivermectin has the “same antiviral effect” on all “mutant strains” including alpha, delta, and Omicron. Kowa added that ivermectin suppresses invasion of the virus and inhibits its replication.

“[Ivermectin] is expected to be applied as a therapeutic drug (tablet) for all new coronavirus infectious diseases,” said the report.

Ivermectin has been used by the World Health Organization for over 30 years to treat parasitic infections. Volunteers have distributed the drug in African countries where it has been found to be extremely effective, said the Kowa report.

However, the treatment has been mired in controversy during recent times as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved the use of ivermectin as a treatment for COVID-19, even though the drug is used in humans to treat a variety of conditions.

The FDA has refused to respond to a Freedom of Information Act request (FOIA) asking for details about any reports of side effects related to the use of ivermectin in treating COVID-19 while publicly denouncing its usage.

The federal government pays hospitals across the country to treat COVID-19 patients but the payment is tied to approved methods and ivermectin is not part of the protocol.

However, families desperate to save their loved ones are resorting to secretly sneaking the drug into hospitals as a last-ditch effort that oftens ends up helping the infected recover.

Around 22 countries around the country have approved the use of ivermectin in the treatment of COVID-19, based on multiple studies. Japan has not yet approved ivermectin’s usage.

A bill has been presented to make New Hampshire the first state in the country to make ivermectin part of the approved COVID-19 treatments and offer it as an over-the-counter medication.

“I have absolutely no doubt lives will be saved if human grade ivermectin was available to COVID patients,” state Republican Rep. Leah Cushman, also a registered nurse, told The Epoch Times about her proposed bill HB3005.


The detractors of using ivermectin have claimed that the drug is extremely dangerous. “I would never want this medication prescribed to myself or my family and would take legal action against anyone who recommended this to my loved ones,” Dr. David Levine of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center wrote in his written testimony on the bill.

Dr. Paul Marik, a supporter of using ivermectin, testified that ivermectin “is one of the safest drugs on the face on this planet.”

Marik, who is a co-founder of the physician-comprised advocacy group Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC), said that ivermectin is approved for the treatment of viruses in 79 countries.

“So somehow Japanese people, Indian people, Brazilian people can tolerate it safely but it’s toxic in Americans. You have to be kidding,” Marik said.

Marik was forced to resign from his position at the Eastern Virginia Medical School over legal battles regarding the usage of alternate treatments for COVID-19, including using ivermectin.

Remember this time last year when the vax bandwagon really got rolling? The vax had been announced in November 2020 and was fast-tracked through the approval process (on an experimental basis at the time).

But it took a while to get to doses shipped and distributed and for people to become aware of where they could get it. That played out over December 2020, but by January 2021, the effort was in full swing.

The first thing those getting jabbed learned was they would have to return in a few weeks for the “second dose.” That was understood and widely accepted, although the Janssen vaccine is different and only requires one shot. Janssen is not nearly as available as the mRNA vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna.

The bandwagon continued through 2021 to the point that about 70% of the U.S. population is now fully vaccinated.
So Much for the “Pandemic of the Unvaccinated”

But by September 2021, doubts arose about the efficacy of the vaccines. They never did stop infections and don’t stop the spread of the virus, but the public was led to believe otherwise. As the Delta variant raged in August and September, followed by the Omicron variant in November, the entire vax story started to fall apart.

The elites who have blamed earlier outbreaks on the “unvaxxed” and those who are fully vaxxed themselves began to get COVID by the millions. They belatedly realized that this was not a pandemic of the unvaxxed but was a pandemic where everyone is vulnerable.

As I’ve said all along, the virus goes where it wants.
Big Pharma Doubles Down

Still, Moderna and Pfizer came forward with a “booster” shot, which is really just another dose of the same vaccine as a solution. Tens of millions lined up for their boosters in the fall of 2021, only to get the Omicron variant of COVID when it ran out of control in December.

So the booster didn’t work either. In fact, there was some evidence that the vaxxed and boosted are more vulnerable to Omicron than the unvaxxed because we have “taught” the virus to evade the vaccines by giving people so many injections.

There’s also some evidence suggesting that repeated vaccination weakens the immune system overall, making people more vulnerable to other diseases. Since these vaccines are experimental, it’ll take years to fully understand their effects.

But rather than admit failure or at least offer a note of caution, Big Pharma is at it again.

Big Pharma Triples Down

The CEO of Moderna says a fourth dose of his vaccine will be needed by this fall. He doesn’t call it a fourth dose; he calls it a second “booster.” But it’s the same thing.

What this really means is that the effects of the vaccine wear off after three–six months and you’ll have to get “boosters” the rest of your life and take your chances with serious side effects, including heart failure and even death.

I can understand why the drug companies favor that. I don’t understand why everyday Americans would. Maybe we should all look to Israel…
96.2% Vaccinated Israel Swamped With COVID

When it comes to vaxxing the entire population, no country is more aggressive than Israel. They acquired large quantities of imported vaccines and recently began an effort to manufacture their own vaccines in order not to rely on imports.

Beginning in December 2020, Israel vaccinated 14% of their population in a mere three weeks. Today, the rate of fully vaccinated Israelis is 96.2%, the highest in the world. Israel was also aggressive when it came to boosters and is already working on plans for a fourth shot (or second booster).

But this vax campaign has not really helped Israel. They had huge outbreaks last summer and another wave from Delta and are now swamped with new cases from the Omicron variant.

All of this is consistent with the best research that shows the vaccines do not prevent infection and do not stop the spread of the disease. However, they do reduce severe cases and fatalities, at least until they lose their potency after a period of months.
Scientists Want Government to Admit Vaccine Failure

Now serious scientists and clinicians in Israel are calling upon the government to admit that the vaccines don’t work as expected and to work on other ways to control the virus, including effective treatments instead of ineffective vaccines.

The letter is addressed to the Israeli government, but it’s equally accurate as applied to vaccine mandates anywhere in the world, including the U.S.

As I stated earlier, it looks like we’re at the point where the vaccines may be doing more harm than good by, in effect, training the virus to mutate in ways that defeat the vaccines.

The irony of this is that the unvaccinated may have better natural immunity than the vaccinated against Omicron since the virus has mutated in order specifically to defeat the spike proteins produced by the vaccines.
Mounting Evidence of Serious Side Effects

More evidence is emerging about the side effects of the vaccines, including heart failure among otherwise healthy men under 40 and reproductive damage to women of childbearing age.

In addition, the number of young, otherwise healthy professional athletes who have died or suffered serious cardiac events is alarming. The number of incidents greatly exceeds what can be expected by chance, based on previous years’ data.

It’s unlikely the Israeli government will admit to any of these failures; they have taken an all-or-nothing approach to the vaccines, much like U.S. public health authorities like Dr. Fauci.

Unfortunately, this means the vax mandates and endless boosters will continue for now.

Still, the rest of the world is wresting with the same issues. Lockdowns, quarantines and mandatory vaccines are not free. They destroy economies. Let’s hope the vaccine madness ends before the economy is run into the ground.
Reason for Hope

And today, there’s new reason for hope.

U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has just announced that England will be lifting requirements for COVID passes, ending mask mandates and canceling work-from-home requirements.

“As COVID becomes endemic, we will need to replace legal requirements with advice and guidance, urging people with the virus to be careful and considerate of others,” Johnson said.

In other words, the virus is here to stay and we’re just going to have to learn to deal with it, like we deal with annual flu outbreaks.

We should protect the most vulnerable (the elderly and those with serious comorbidities), but the rest of society needs to function as normally as possible.

Unvaccinated NYPD officers set to be fired next month

NEW YORK — Unvaccinated NYPD officers currently on unpaid leave after a sweeping COVID-19 vaccine mandate late last year will be fired next month if they don’t get the jab, the Daily News has learned.

Officers who have refused the shot have until Feb. 11 to comply, according to a memo sent out to NYPD sergeants by Sergeants Benevolent Association president Vincent Vallelong.

Members of the department who had not gotten at least one vaccine dose were put on unpaid leave Nov. 1 following the citywide vaccine mandate for all municipal employees.

The memo makes clear that new NYPD hires who have not provided proof of vaccination and those officers on unpaid leave who have refused the shot will be notified Monday of the new February deadline to get the jab or face termination.

The move does not apply to members of the department who have been granted a religious or medical exemption, nor to those who are waiting for their accommodation appeal to be approved, according to the memo. Officers awaiting a decision on their medical or religious exemption will continue to be tested regularly and are expected to wear masks.

Cops who have not yet forked over proof of a second vaccine — barring Johnson and Johnson’s one and done jab — will need to do so or get their second dose, the memo demands. However, the memo states that a termination date for cops out of compliance has not yet been determined.

“Every avenue has been exhausted by Law Enforcement and others across the country in the courts, we have lost at every turn,” Vallelong wrote in the email blast. “With this in mind, I ask you to take the proper steps to ensure that whatever decision you make is best for you and your families.”

Days before the sweeping mandate went into effect, the Police Benevolent Association, which represents about 24,000 NYPD officers, sued the city to block the order. A state Supreme Court judge quickly refused to pause the directive.

A NYPD spokesperson on Sunday night said he had been made aware of the memo.

Might be the best thing that ever happened to those officers. Life as a NYPD officer is going to be very ugly in the coming months. Shameful.

When we finally push back against this tyranny, we MUST hold those people accountable with severe penalties. If there is no disincentive, they will do this again and again at each opportunity. U.K. Plans To End Vaccination Requirements For Health Care Workers

The United Kingdom is moving to end its vaccine requirement for health care workers.

Speaking before Parliament Monday, U.K. Health Minister Sajid Javid announced that the government would open discussions on ending vaccination as a condition of employment in health and social care settings, citing the overwhelming population of vaccinated people and evidence suggesting that the Omicron variant is less severe than previous variants of COVID-19.

“Last Thursday, we woke up to a new phase of this pandemic, as we returned to Plan A,” Javid said. “People are no longer advised to work from home. Face coverings are no longer mandatory. Organisations no longer have to require the NHS Covid Pass. And from today, there’s no limit on the number of visitors allowed to care homes. Week by week, we are carefully moving our COVID response from one of rules and restrictions, back to one of personal responsibility.”

“We know of course that COVID-19 is here to stay,” he continued. “While some countries remain stuck on a zero-COVID strategy and others think about how they will safely open up here, we’re showing the way forward, and showing the world what successfully living with COVID looks like. The principle we’re applying is the same principle that’s guided our actions throughout this pandemic: and that is to achieve the maximum protection of public health with the minimum intrusion in people’s everyday lives. According to the Guardian UK, England’s National Health Service reports that as of late January, 127,515 medical workers had not gotten their first shot. The pandemic has been taking a toll on Americans’ hearts — even those who’ve never had COVID-19 — with 41% reporting they have experienced at least one cardiac-related issue since March 2020, according to a Cleveland Clinic survey released on Tuesday.

The most common problems included shortness of breath, which affected almost one-fifth of respondents; dizziness and increased blood pressure, each cited by 15%; and chest pain, reported by 13%.

Of those who did test positive for COVID-19, more than a quarter, 27%, said the disease impacted their heart health.

Previous research has found the virus can linger in the heart for months, with complications that can include blood clots, heart inflammation, disruption of the heart rhythm, heart failure and heart attacks. Last month, the American Heart Association announced it was launching studies into the long-term effects of the virus on the heart.

The pandemic also seems to have disrupted healthy habits that protect the heart, the new survey found. The number of Americans who said they often sat throughout the day rose from 33% before the crisis to 38% after. More than one-fifth, 22%, said increased responsibilities at home meant they had less time to exercise regularly.

Mental health plays a role, too. Depression and anxiety worsened during the pandemic, which put people at higher risk for heart disease, researchers reported last fall.

With the start of American Heart Month in February, cardiologists urged everyone to find ways to improve their lifestyle.

“Now is the time to refocus on our heart health,” said Dr. Samir Kapadia, chair of cardiovascular medicine at Cleveland Clinic, in a statement.

“We know 90% of heart disease is preventable through a healthier diet, regular exercise and not smoking.”

Becoming more aware of those factors may be key. Only 22% of Americans knew the Mediterranean diet was heart healthy, the survey found. Meanwhile, more than a third didn’t know high blood pressure, obesity, smoking or vaping could raise the risk of heart disease.

In a more positive finding, about two-thirds of Americans said they've had their blood pressure checked in the last six months. Monitoring that number offers an important glimpse into heart health.

The responses come from on an online survey of a nationally representative sample of 1,000 U.S. adults completed in November 2021.

Last season I coached my daughters soccer team, some of you may remember our ehhh interesting and exciting season. A lot of our parents got together were talking after our last soccer game. I didn’t previously know one of fathers on our team was a cardiologist.

As a coach I go to great lengths to avoid anything controversial or political. I found it very interesting that both the cardiologist and his wife had not been vaccinated and both expressed some concerns over negative side effects with the vaccine relating to heart issues. They were quite open on their thoughts on this subject.

They must be ignorant Trump supporters and science deniers!

Two of the biggest groups refusing the vaccines are health care workers and pilots, both highly educated professionals who understand how to weigh relative risks and are responsible for the safety of others.

Even if you clicked on his video with the intent to justify your anger towards him his response would make justifying such beliefs VERY hard.

I am reminded of someone very wise who said something like “when others attack you live as though no one would believe your accusers”. Joe Rogans response is one of the best examples of taking that idea and doing it.
