I like this. Some children around here ream out their mufflers.
“Drivers with roaring engines are being hit with $250 tickets in Newport, Rhode Island thanks to new 'noise cameras' that detect vehicles exceeding the city's decibel limit and automatically flag them for fines.
The technology, which is set to be expanded to numerous states across the US, is targeting cars and motorcycles that exceed noise laws with revving engines, blaring stereos, or modified muffler exhausts. …”
Yes please. I have nothing against a nice “reasonable exhaust” and I am pretty open to what that is, but like in the other thread about loud pipes for the love of god! I was next to a typical jack wad at the light after a VA appt. In my F250 diesel with the ac on full blast and the radio on fairly loud I still had to cover my ears for the 2 minutes we were at the light. I don’t know which was louder the blasting stereo or the straight pipes he kept revising!

Not a fan of loud exhaust, but I'll never be in favor of using computers and camera systems to automatically hand out tickets. Too much room for error, and no room for discretion.

+1 If you can afford to buy that system, you can afford to give officers a sound level meter. Remember loud pipes saves lives causes hearing loss and pisses people off.
