My dad had a friend he lost contact with and was trying to find him. Any idea how to find the guy?

This is the way.

Depending on how long ago he retired, another option is calling his old Division or RA and explaining. It *might* yield a near-to-retirement guy who knows who to call to relay a message. It's been done.
