Power density and rechargeability. My little Bluetooth speaker will run longer than my old 8 cell boom box would. It costs pennies to recharge and can be recharged hundreds and hundreds of times. Same with flashlights. Think about the number of D cells you'd need for a kids scooter and the cost to replace them after every hour of use.

Guitar effects pedals often use 9v batteries, although most also have a jack for a transformer. You do have to make sure your wall wart provides good, clean, stable power or you will hear it out of your amp; so sometimes batteries have an advantage.

Some real tone nerds claim conventional dry cell batteries sound different from alkaline from lithium, but I can't understand why that would be. And my ears are probably not that good even if they are.

Big Grin That brought back some memories. Traffic's "Low Spark" on my boom box in my 77 VW van. It had NO HEAT in the winter. Well, batteries get worse in the winter/cold. So when the song got loud at one point, the tape would slow down. 33 years later, when I hear that song, and it gets to that point, I still fully expect it to slow down.

What brand do people like for 9V lithiums?
Personally, I use Energizer Ultimate Lithium in my Fluke meters and other instrumentation that takes a 9 volt.

Same here, Energizer Lithium for 9v, AA, and AAA.

I checked it out and they don't offer a product to replace just one AA battery. I just kept looking and did find a company that does offer just what I need, and ordered one. It was a lot more expensive than the Amazon one, but a fall from a ladder is going to be more expensive than either one!!. Thanx for your help
